NeylasMom Posted November 3, 2021 Share Posted November 3, 2021 I can't believe I'm even typing this. My third greyhound, my third osteo diagnosis. This is so **ing unfair. We've been managing Violet's lumbar disc issues well for years. When she suddenly came up lame my first thought was that that had gotten worse, or we thought maybe she sprained her ileo, but over the last couple of weeks as we waited to get back into the specialist it's gotten worse despite everything I was throwing at it and I knew. I thought it couldn't be possible, but I also couldn't imagine what else would present like this, especially because she seemed sensitive around her knee. Today we were finally able to get an emergency appt and get x-rays and her femur is a mess. I know what I need to do, I just need to find the strength. I am so gutted. This wasn't supposed to happen to my sweetest best girl. Give her a Reese's peanut butter cup before she sees the vet. One vet has said no dog should have to die without having had chocolate; my inclination is to step it up to include peanut butter.
