Seems like the best dogs are always champion rooers in addition to all their other amazing attributes. You and Regan recognized across the miles that there was something very special about her, something quietly but deeply beautiful. And I was ecstatic, because honestly, when I saw her in her cage, I thought, this one really needs a home! That graying face, that owie on her head..... We were so glad that you were able to instinctively know how sweet she was. I think it was her eyes, kind and gentle, but holding a touch of sadness from everything she had seen and endured. You were her angels, giving her some wonderful years filled with love, the safety of a close family, and of course, lots of good food! Everyone was thrilled to see her so happy. And, oh, the roo..... It just doesn't seem fair that you didn't get to have more time together, but you squeezed a lot of happiness into those years! I'm so sorry you lost your precious Beatrix.
