I completely forgot to congratulate chArlie on his big move!  Having your very own place to call your own that has been saged from bad experiences/memories is wonderful!  Personally, I think it is great that you did your big shed before you moved as I bet your furs will be floating around the old digs for some time (and hopefully landing in the in the rearview mirror mister's food.  And I feel awfully bad for Akita.  She doesn't stand a chance.  

Sorry your Portugal trip was basically a bust, Miss Jennie.  I just had a friend who returned after four days there.  She went there to bring back several dogs and got some vacay time, too.  Maybe next time your experience will be better.  

Lordy, I miss a good cheeseburger sometimes!  I have learned to make my own black bean burgers and they are not like the hockey pucks you buy in the store.  That helps tremendously.  That, and sweet potato fries to accompany it!  

As for Fizzy, I will know Tuesday if that will be her name.  David keeps changing his mind as Fizzy reminds him of AlkaSeltzer   It reminds me of carbonation, which this girlie has in spades.  Not all the time, thankfully, but when she gets all happy, she erupts in happiness!  Barking, play bowing, tail going crazy.  We NEED some fizziness in this house!  Right now, though, she is zonked out on the floor behind my office seat and Lacy is snoozing on the couch.  While I miss having a big boy here, I am grateful that I have two happy girls.  And, honestly, Fizzy has way more patience with Lacy than the boys did, but to be fair, both were suffering from cancer that no one knew about.  I am thankful that Angus did have some good times with her before he felt ill - the bitey face play time with her on the couch and he standing on the floor in front of it brings a smile to my face every time I think about it.  It was fun to see them interact with such abandon and joy.

Miss Jerilyn got a cheeseburger!  There is one in my future today!

I missed the city fireworks display last night.  I just plain forgot.  They always celebrate the 4th of July on the last Thursday of June after the outdoor band concert (those are every Thursday) with food trucks and an ice cream social.  Bummer.

I was sad to learn this morning that Kinky Friedman has died.  DH and I saw him with his Texas Jewboys on Austin City Limits many years ago and thought we would both have a stroke laughing so hard at his songs!  He was a great advocate of homeless, aged, and abused animals, caring for them at his ranch in Texas. I never read any of his detective books, though.  Maybe I should go on a search . . .

The Cheeseburger has won.  I'm off to get one.

Mister Nate, I bet that kitteh does NOT like getting his butt sprayed!!!    Momma's been wadering our plants a lot (including the time she lefted it on for three hours) and she does not even wanna think about how big our wader bill is gonna be next time.    

Miss Cindy we are very very happy that Miss Fizzy is fitting in so good, and seems to have helped both Miss Lacifer and Mister David's heart heal up a bit.   

Miss Wiki, me and Flizziy offen get a good part of Daddy's meals cause his eyeballs are way way bigger than his stummikk!!  He still thinks he's gonna eat, like, a couppla Big Makkies from Mikky Dees, or a whole box of chikken or something, and he really can hardly eat haff a can of soop, most of the time.    Momma has only been to our farming market once due to circumstances, she says.    But maybe she mite go this week, just to get outta the house.    

Miss Noo Carol, Momma would probly not use delivery services as much as we do if things were different, but most of the time she's mostly concerned about Daddy eating *any* foods (he's lost another 20 lbs in the last 2 1/2 months  ), so if he says he wants a particular thing she tries to get it for him.  But it does cost a little more to do that a lot.  Still, she does ushually get us something too!!!   

Miss Dr Robin we sure hope this other property turns out to be more betterer than the last one!!!    

Miss Lizabeth we have a hard time thinking about mangoes falling into your yard like Miss Wiki!!  Momma wented to Aridzona once with her gandparints when she was little, and she still reememmers being astonished that the peeples they were staying with just went out to a tree in their backyard and pikked oringes for brekkie!!!    

Aaaaawwwwww!!!!!!  Lookit Miss Summer and Miss Dio!!!!   

The cleaning doodettes were here for about 90 minits yesserday - in and worked and out!  They were nice and both petted us!  Flizz tried to get in the way and hepp em out, but *I* was a goodgirl!! and stayed on my bed, even when they were vacuuming rite around me!!    

Not sure what's going on today.  it's gonna be hawter and hoomid tho, so probly not much.

Finally the call from the surgeon.

Five an a half hours under anesthesia. She admitted that when they got in there the crush damage was to much for the more expensive procedures to have worked. Fusion was the right decision. No issues with the quirks that can happen in greyhounds. Tiller is waking up and sporting a cast splint. They are uppity about us transfering him to our vet tomorrow. The difference is $80 vs $200 for the exact same medical care per day. Bonus at my vet, Tiller is comfy there and spoiled by the entire staff.  Yesterday when we picked him up, he was getting pretty good walking in his splint that they were leaving his crate open so he could come out on his own. That blind dog learned the hospital floor plan and was wandering around the hospital and leaning on everyone. It is a large practice with about 40 staff. Tiller with that much attention I am really in trouble when I can finally bring him home.

Thanks for all the support. I am going to follow greyhound habit now and take a nap.

Hi!  I've missed a lot.  It's been so hot where the computer is.  We had a day or two of normal temps, then back to hot again.  Friends and clients are in various crises.  My friend Trish's boyfriend (seems funny to call a 76 year old man that), was in a horrible car accident.  He broke his collarbone, hip, pelvis and ankle.  After many surgeries, he is in a rehab place now.  Without getting into too many depressing details, he is a piece of #%@~*#.  Mentally and emotionally abusive, a terrible hoarder, and a bad dog owner.  Trish is pushed to the max dealing with everything.  We have marathon phone calls every night where I have to be a counselor and talk her off the edge.   He'd just assumed that he and the dog would move in with Trish and her 5 cats in her small but pristine house, and that is NOT going to happen.  She would NEVER get rid of him, and that would be bad in every way possible.  Hopefully it will be resolved in this lifetime.

I'm now at my client Toni's, who was rushed to the ER early this morning with severe GI bleeding.  Hadn't planned for a live in, but I'm free, so I'll be here with Tucker and Simba as long as I need to be.

Cindy, Fizzy is a gorgeous, happy girl, and I'm so glad she is making you smile.

So relieved and happy that Tiller's surgery is over and was a success.  What a dear soul he his. Hope his recovery is quick and uneventful, and he is back with you soon, Sherrie.

Cynthia, so excited for your move!  It's stressful, but so worth it.  I know you all will be very happy there. Nancy, sorry about your toe.  I've broken several, and you're right, there's not much to be done.  They "buddy taped" it to the next toe.

My injection went well but was sad to hear that this amazing Doctor is moving on. She drives 4 hours to Kingston on Sundays (with her dog) just to work at our Pain management clinic for 3 days.  Then back to her normal job as an ER Doc at a hospital in Toronto. The travel is getting to be too much.  She has been so very supportive of my active lifestyle but assured me her replacement will be just as good 

My foot looks worse today but actually feels better 

PattyKake is as clean as she's going to be for tomorrows outing.  Too cool for a full bath, but her tail and white socks don't look too bad.  I'm aiming to leave here around 5:30
