  1. What part of the UK are you from? If you haven't checked out the art of Richard Skipworth, he nails the quirks of greyhound behavior.
  2. Could she also be hearing something she doesn't like? My Johnny hates lawn equipment, compressors, generators, etc., gets the pants and shakes.
  3. My own Lab got the runs from too much fun on the Outer Banks. I kept an eye on her, she was fine after clearing the ocean water out of her system. She did not get the same symptons from the Chesapeake Bay, I'm guessing the salinity level is less due to the inflow from all the rivers.
  4. My boys scarf them up--Gino's lack of decent teeth make it a little harder, but he'll be damned if Johnny gets it!
  5. Some places have a wash your own dog tub, with a ramp and all. My fear is not getting either one IN the tub, it's one slipping (even with a mat!) and not being able to get them back out.
  6. Kong Zoom Groom. Works on both cats and dogs. Johnny loves it!
  7. Yes, I have created an Arby's curly fry-monster out of my new boy Gino as well...
  8. My new boy Gino (big and black!) doesn't like little yappy snappy dogs--there are a couple of Chihuahuas around that really get him stirred up (Johnny ignores them). Now he did meet our neighbor's very calm little terrier type dog, and he did just fine. I'm sure chihuhua lady thinks WE are the problem...
  9. My new boy Gino is a bush/long grass pooper--which I'm trying to discourage, as he has the dreaded squirms and I need to get a clean pickup. Johnny favors the pampas grass and the monkey grass. Of course, if wet grass is the only options, that is a no-go!
  10. My Johnny is Mr. Boat Anchor. When we would go on group walks, he had to lead the pack. I thought when I got Gino, he would want to be ahead of him--NOPE. Gino is four, he is go-go-go sniff-sniff-sniff, and Johnny is all about getting the full pee-mail message for every stop. I've taken Johnny to some off leash areas w/o other dogs around, all he does is sniff and pee. Haven't taken Gino off-leash yet, he'd probably do the same. And, if you haven't yet, check out Richard Skipworth's greyhound art. He nails the exact behaviors we are experiencing!
  11. They act like they hate the muzzles, wiping them on my legs, a stranger's legs, the bed, the couch, the floor, the wall, on and on...but I'd rather them be uncomfortable than injured or worse.
  12. I just got a new boy 2 weeks ago, I'm still muzzling them during the day when I'm at work. They have only had a few snarks that I have witnessed, it was "I'm laying on this bed, get lost!", but I don't have a camera set up to see what they are doing during the day. They do share food and treats and walk together nicely, but I'm not taking any chances. The new guy, Gino, tolerates my cats to a degree, but he has had a few snarks and lunges at the cats when they intrude in his personal space, so that's another check in the muzzle column.
  13. Good news for Larry! Sounds like it might be a granuloma, I had one of those myself.
  14. I've seen Johnny execute a perfect scent-catch head turn for a pee-mail--it's too bad that's about the only thing that catches his interest!
  15. Johnny is a spinner, first one way, then the other. Take him to the park, whole place to himself, he sniffs around and not much else. Go figure!
  16. I like them, but they are pricier as opposed to the Milk-Bone brushing chews. The flavored ones are even pricier, but sometimes PetSmart has a good sale. My new boy Gino has missing and worn teeth, and he has no problem with the Milk-Bone ones, so I'm thinking he'll do fine with Greenies, too.
  17. Had a Lab that would fight you for strawberries, but Johnny prefers his fruit and veg cooked. He is nuts for cheese, we share a cheese stick every evening. He also loves yogurt and baked goods, but those don't work well in training!
  18. Yep, Seresto collar. Frontline is losing its effectiveness in many places.
  19. Huh, I've moved states multiple times and I've never been asked for a CVI or anything when boarding or going to a new vet. The proof of rabies vaccination and other shots has been the most I've ever needed. Only one place issued a dog license, that was Shelby County TN.
