The crazy greyhound world

Nadine

As many of you know, I adopted Mooney a year after my beloved Paddy died. Strange coincidence... Mooney was born the day Paddy left for the bridge.

But with this crazy little critter I gained a wonderful friend in his breeder Karen. She still feels involved in her boy's life and gifted him and his new siblings Abu and Saoirse with these gorgeous coats.

In addition she invited us to visit her in her humble home to get to know her kennels (dogs live as pets in the small house 😉) and go to the track with Mooney to promote greyhound adoption. So, 2024 we will be travelling from Germany to Ireland to visit Mooney's little hut he was born and raised in 😍

What a wonderful trip that will be!

And meanwhile how remarkably smart they all look in their fine new coats - like three mini-racehorses. And racehorses are also very much an Irish export, of course - as an Irish friend of mine once told me 'back home, everyone sets their dreams riding on either a dog, or a horse.'

"It is also to be noted of every species, that the handsomest of each move best ... and beasts of the most elegant form, always excel in speed; of this, the horse and greyhound are beautiful examples."----Wiliam Hogarth, The Analysis of Beauty, 1753.

What a lovely relationship Mooney brought into your life!  The planned trip to his first home will, I'm sure, be wonderful.  Your pack in their matching coats look spectacular.

He has his own coat of arms

Since he's a greyhound, wouldn't a coat of legs be more suitable?  :)

Speaking of excellent pictures, AnneGTS -- it has been much too long since we have seen pictures of your girls.

What first caught my eye was the striking coats, but as soon as I looked more carefully, I was mesmerized by the striking houndies.

Love the hut. Enjoy your visit to Mooney's ancestral home.
