Guest sootsnoot
Hello! My boyfriend and I adopted our first greyhound on December 2, so not even quite a full month, and if we're being totally honest here... I'm ready for three more. I grew up within a very dog-dependent, dog-centric family and several breeders (scenthounds, heelers, collies, gun dogs), but this is my first dog on my own in a city. We are so glad we stuck with this choice, despite my pull towards the stubborn, primitive breeds. Now, we're spoiled and have packed our bags entirely onto the sighthound train. Our boy is named Banjo, but his racing name is Jedi Ninjascroll. He never raced (West Virginia), but he's retiring as if he's worked at the same company for 50 years based on the amount of sighs and grumbles he throws my way. He just turned 2 years old Oct. 30, and he's amazing with cats. Our two have adjusted really well to him, even our little ex-feral quickly settled right back in to zoomies and lapnaps. I can't get over the fact that despite not disclosing my obsession with masked fawns, that's what we ended up with. He is so awesome, and we're really excited to see him continue being awesome on our couch. My blog about grief The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not get over the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same.
