sdisto Posted March 17, 2014 Share Posted March 17, 2014 My sweet Woody earned his wings Friday night. He had bone cancer and the pain got to be too much so I had to let him go. Now my heart is broken and I miss him like crazy. Woody was one of the largest, fuzziest boys I've ever met - and I've met hundreds of greyhounds. I even had to put an extra hole in his muzzle strap because it was so hard to get a large muzzle on his head without jamming his nose into it. I got used to people - even those with several greyhounds of their own - walking up to us, looking him up and down, pausing and saying, "he's kind of... big." At the same time, he was about the sweetest. He has never met a stranger in his life. He would walk right up to a person, lean his entire body against them and gaze up directly into their eyes. I always wondered what he was thinking. It was probably just, "I love you, buddy!" God speed sweet baby. There's no more need to be scared of plastic bags or little dogs or your brothers bossing you around. Go find Uncle Tony - he'll take care of you now.
