AstasMinion Posted May 12, 2014 Share Posted May 12, 2014 We lost our lovebug Asta last fall after a severe attack of laryngeal paralysis. It's been a while, I realize, but at the time I just couldn't bring myself to write about it -- plus, I haven't been terribly active on GT for quite some time, so I just saved it for later. Fast forward to this weekend, when I created the attached collage featuring scenes from her 10 years with us, primarily because we had a home visit from our local greyhound adoption group Saturday night. I so very much wanted them to "meet" Asta, to get a glimpse at how precious she was to us, and is still. Then as I logged on to GT just a bit ago, thinking I might post something about going through the adoption process for the second time, I knew I had to start by giving Asta her very own remembrance post. Of course this girl has everything to do with our inability to conceive of NOT bringing home another greyhound. I already know that in a striking coincidence, Asta's littermate Dixie passed under similar circumstances just a few days before Asta -- so we know they have each other to play with. Just looking at your pictures, I had to look at our pictures of Dixie and I can find similar poses to Asta. They would be hard to tell apart.
