Maya had a really rough day yesterday, but we managed to keep her out of the evet with the help of her vet. We're getting ready to take her to the clinic. She's bleeding from the mouth, and this morning I can feel some sort of lump in her stomach. I don't know what this morning will bring, but I'm thankful my DH was able to push his flight back to go with me. Guest PiagetsMom Posted April 28, 2014 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Thanks, everyone. Some of you may remember my previous thread in H&M about Maya's mysterious red blood cell issues. I stopped updating because there just wasn't much to say. The last round of blood work definitely ruled out the babesia, which left the PFK muscle disease that Dr. Couto suggested we test for. Unfortunately, Dr. Couto found that there is no way to test for PFK in greyhounds, so we've pretty much been in a waiting pattern here. Which makes me so sad for Maya, because while clearly she has something serious going on, the doctors are at a loss. I had to leave her with Dr. Miller.....by the time we got there she was also bleeding from the nose. At the very least, Dr. Miller feels that we have some sort of clotting issue, and his best guess for the stomach is either spleen or liver. We're in the process of running blood work, and based on that, we may move forward with an ultrasound.
