Thank you for sharing your beautiful boy with us, Kyle. In my mind, the word "Charlie" will always be synonymous with the word "hope." Like Holly said, this one hits a little bit harder.

I'm so sorry he had to leave. f_yellow

Pam with Sockem the GH, Birdie the JRT, Osorno the chocolate lab, and Shelby the shepherd mix. Missing Clarice (1991-2007) and Lily (2004-2012), always in our hearts.

Oh Kyle, my heart just dropped to my feet. I am so very, very sorry. I will miss Charlie so much. Take comfort in knowing that he will be met at the bridge by so many, including his half bro, Phene. My dad will take good care of him. :f_red

Oh Kyle, I am so heartbroken to hear that Charlie is gone. He was such a sweet boy and so very gentle. He had the very best home with you and Lynn and I know how hard this is for you both. Please give my love to Lynn and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you both. :grouphug

Words can't erase the pain of losing a much beloved member of the family, and the poem below is just words, but they touched me deeply and I hope they will help you a little.

THE BEST PLACE TO BURY A DOG

"There is one best place to bury a dog.

"If you bury him in this spot, he will

come to you when you call - come to you

over the grim, dim frontier of death,

and down the well-remembered path,

and to your side again.

"And though you call a dozen living

dogs to heel, they shall not growl at

him, nor resent his coming,

for he belongs there.

"People may scoff at you, who see

no lightest blade of grass bent by his

footfall, who hear no whimper, people

who may never really have had a dog.

Smile at them, for you shall know

something that is hidden from them,

and which is well worth the knowing.

"The one best place to bury a good

dog is in the heart of his master."

--- Ben Hur Lampman ---

from the Portland Oregonian Sept. 11, 1925
