In sept. I lost my blue brindle Ellie to osteo. A week ago Tessa was diagnosed with hemagiosarcoma. Tessa started going downhill Thursday. I was hoping to have a full weekend to spoil her but by Saturday night she couldn't get up and had trouble drinking. So this afternoon I sent her to go be with Ellie. Losing two hounds in 6 weeks is such a kick to the nads. But I know she is pain free and kicking up the grass running. I know she had a great life here for 10 years and one day I will be with her and all my other hounds I have lost over the years.

They never stay as long as we want them to. Pretty Sure my Bijou will be there to welcome him and Ellie will be there for him too. Hang in there G

My Blue Brindled side-kick for many years finally left on her final journey Friday (9/28). She survived a cancer scare 5 years ago when we removed a mass in her hip. This past week she that leg came up lame and she would not put weight on it and would drag it when ever she would walk. Took her to the vet Friday and that was a mass on her leg bone. It was hard to say good bye to her but I had to lead with my head not my heart. I'm sure Isis and Bijou were waiting for her to get updates on Daddy. Ellie, you will always have Daddy with you no matter what separates us.

Has any grey parents used styptic power on cuts to themselves? Asking for a friend.. :lol :lol

ok, for all the ND feeders a question..Have any of you tried the new green bag Nature's Domain Chicken and Pea? It started showing up in one of my local Costco's and was thinking of giving it a try. I tried the red bag Turkey and Sweet Potato and the hounds wouldn't touch it. They like the other varieties excpt that. Just wanted to know if your hounds like the Chicken and Pea.

I feed the ND Beef..The hounds like that, then the Salmon but they all hate the Turkey..go figure

For all of those that have been having a bad time..Here is a little something to give you a chuckle.. What if we had to do what the hounds have to do at the vet...

I switched of to ND Beef version and the hounds loved it. I've never had any problems with that . I swithed to save a few bucks from the Salmon version. Sounds like I made a good switch

Little Millie, run free sweetie. You taught your little brother a lot and I know he is going to miss you as much as your grammie.

Sorry to hear this today..Molly you had a good life and had some great kids. Ellie is a fine daughter. Be proud of Molly and give her all kinds of treats and give her a hug for me as she heads off on this great advenure

Welcome to the Darkside Hope to see you at the Greyt Gathering in January. I'll be there with my kids. I use to foster with GPA until a few weeks ago when I failed for the 2nd time this year and adopted my spooky foster. It's a great chance to meet other grey owners and start your searching for eye candy for your future hound. Plus I get to see some of my former fosters, Like AZGreyGirl's Chloe.

It's a bit of a haul for me but I drive over to Homestead in Mesa. Since he does the vet work for GPA, he has a clue and when ever I've gotten scripts I've been able to get them and take them to Fry's

I'd be checking on a new vet. Unless there was a lot of muscle tissue damage, I think that is an excessive doasge

Just read this thread... Ellie says that momma is a tough one, that's who she got her toughness from. It's never easy when this happens. But you have spoiled her, and that is what we are suppose to do

Those of you in the South Phoenx, Tempe, Gilbert or chandler area who feed Nature's Domain from Costco. The Costco at I-10 and Elliot now has the Nature's Domain Beef and Sweet Potato. It's in a yellow bag so now you have 3 varieties to choose from.

Ok..the back story...I live in the middle of Hell AKA Phoenix, AZ. I work a 3am-noon shift. Meaning since April, I get off work at noon and it is 100+, I go to bed around 7pm and it is still 100+. I get up at 2am and still in the 90s plus now during our "monsoons" the heat index at 2am is in the mid 90s. so we have all been pretty much slugs for the last 6 months. I do go to Gold's Gym and hit the treadmill there which helps me, but my "kids". I'm seriously thinking of hitting a used sport equipment store and buying a treadmill and dumping my gym membership. I can fashion some side walls to the treamill to keep the hounds from stepping off the sides and a quick stop release to the collar incase they trip. Ofcourse I would be there to supervise their "walks" as well. I was wondering if any GTers have done this for the hounds or if any of the race trainesr would have any suggestions to help me out. I know treadmills have been use in rehab, but have no idea the speed settings or incline setting or any of that.

Just saw this and I am so sorry for you. The few times I saw Fletcher he was a sweetheart of a hound. They never stay long enough with up. But now he is pain free and young and stirring trouble across the bridge.

ok..where were the turkey necks at that price? I need to get some for the kids

I have a DAP from when I had the ultra-spook Meg. It didn't help her but Tidbit is not at that level of spook so I will get it out and plug it in and see how she does with it

Tidbit still will cower and move away from me and if standing and won't come within 7 feet of me now.. But if she is laying down on a dog bed and I move real slow, often while I am giving attention to one of my kids, she will often scooch (is that even a word? ) back against the wall and turn her head away from me. But she will let me lay near her and over time of me speaking softly and gently petting her she will relax and stretch out a bit and drift off to sleep. And if I move back away from her she isn't up and out the dog door in a heartbeat. I just spent about 20 minutes laying next to her, and she let out the big sigh as I petted her. When one of my pups would come over to get daddy loving she would raise and watch then lay her head back down and drift off to sleep again. I know it's not a lot, and she still prefers to grab clothes and drag them into the backyard and pile up under my bedroom window to sleep at night, but any progress is good progress.
