kikibean Posted November 18, 2011 Share Posted November 18, 2011 I know many of you remember the brindle girl who was loose in Kansas in August. Shortly after the shelter found her she had two puppies. Kansas City REGAP took her and her puppies in and her foster family renamed her Hope. I just got the below email from Robyn at REGAP, and she asked me to post it here since she knew many of you had followed Hope's story and had been so happy that she had found her forever home. Run free sweet girl, I'm so happy you had your forever home and had found your couch. Lickity Split--who was renamed Hope by her foster family--was diagnosed with osteosarcoma on 11/7/11. She had a significant amount of pain, which her family was finally able to get under control with large doses of meds, but she also had a significant amount of swelling which made the vet suspect that she may have had a microfracture. To spare her further pain, we made the very difficult decision to let her go this past Saturday. She was an amazing dog, in the short time she was with us she raised her pups to the point they were weaned and became a beautiful, happy dog--looking nothing like she did when we first got her--she loved playing with her toys and pups, and discovered just how comfortable the couch was. Her time with her foster family was far too short, but she was very much loved and will absolutely be missed. Even though we didn't have her very long, we all feel blessed to have known her.
