She is very blessed that she had you and that you understood her so well and loved her so much. Though the time they spend with us on earth may be shorter the love and expereinces are no less than what we would have garnered had we had them from puppyhood. In fact I myself think that their "seniorness" allows them to gift us some magical way with even more. I think maybe thats a secret that senior adopters find out and only they can really understand. We said goodbye just a month ago now; he was 13 and 4 months. It is so very hard, I know...but I guess that is the cost of sharing our hearts and lives with these angels on earth.
