ramonaghan Posted August 20 Share Posted August 20 (edited) We are hound-sitting a foster for our local greyhound group. She's a West Virginia ("mountain mama...") girl who turned 3 in June. Meet CET Pavati, from a boat brand litter. Her foster mom has been calling her Pavi, so we're going with that. The vet has her down as Pavarotti. Poor girl. But she's a pretty one! The first member of the shiny hiney club we've had here. I just picked her up yesterday, so she's wearing her lecter until we know she's safe with Tootie the cat, who is still very much an object of curiosity. (Everything has been an object of curiosity! My entire house has been inspected thoroughly.) She and Doolin have been just fine. All going well with Tootie, she'll be here through September 4. She does—plus about 10 pounds! She might have a little more Lacy in her personality though. Apparently she's been a stuffie de-squawker and possibly a bit of a pot stirrer with her foster sister. But she's still on her best behavior here. I even got a little chatter earlier. Doolin has walked the past two days instead of freezing as usual, so I'd say he likes her. ramonaghan Posted August 21 Author Share Posted August 21 (edited) Exciting night. Doolin caught a squirrel. I was just saying how mellow he is and I guess he needed to show off for his new friend. Pavi seemed not very interested, which is great, except... ...she chased Tootie en route to the litter box and snapped at her. No shaking or drooling or anything super concerning, but it's clear she is "workable" and not "safe." I remember Sweep doing the same sort of chomp to Henry, and she turned out to be perfectly cat-safe, so I am hoping it's just being a young'n and everything is new and must be smelled and maybe tasted. Tootie is fine and not at all traumatized, but she is making herself scarce upstairs. (I sure wish Richard were here to sort the cat training.) Lecter remains on when she is out of the crate and Tootie is downstairs. In other news, Pavi found the toy basket, while Doolin found her crate.
