Cancer is a monster that causes so much pain, for them, for us, in every way possible. But we would wish for all our beloved pets a passing as peaceful and filled with love as Tilly's was. Guest RICHandJUDE Posted February 10, 2016 Share Posted February 10, 2016 I have lost two greyts to Osteo. The first we put down because it had spread to the lungs. The Second one's Osteo hadn't spread as far as we could tell. We had the amputation and six rounds of chemo. The second greyt (named Santa) lived another 29 months pain free. He lived a good life and got around great after the amputation. (rear leg) We had him put down 29 montha later for something unrelated to cancer. Chemo must be different in humans. Santa had NO side effects from the chemo. It is a tough decision to make. It did cost us about $3000 total. I am sure that you will make the right decision. Good Luck whatever you choose.
