Guest Grhndad Posted January 24, 2014 Share Posted January 24, 2014 My DW wrote this. Ghost is our 10th grey loss. We let GhostWalker go to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. He had been ill for nearly a year and the Big C finally got to be more than he could fight. He was eleven years and nine months (as of the 6th) and he has owned us since June 7, 2007; Our bridge kid Katie shared her Gotcha Day with him. He was a big black boy with mostly white toes and, as Harry discovered, a round white spot directly under his tail. He didn't do well with crowds, other male hounds or other breeds so we had to stop taking him to Meet-N-Greets but at home he was so laid back it was funny and loved his fur sisters and brothers (Our bridge kid Max showed him the ropes during his last weeks and Ghost accepted Max's half brother, Dart, while he was with us those few short weeks). He loved toys; shortly after he discovered them a soft, plush, three foot long pink caterpillar with black antenna and big embroidered eyes came flying out of the bedroom and across the living room...followed immediately by a large boy who promptly picked it up and tossed it back toward the bedroom; Katie and Pansy just stood back and watched. He loved tossing, squeaking and generally playing with the toys. Ghost had no problem with girls. Katie and Pansy taught him how to play and he loved them and the other girls...Bea, Lexie, Willow and Rosie...when they joined his pack. Lexie and Willow are also bridge kids. Good Bye, GhostWalker.
