Cully Posted July 28, 2013 Share Posted July 28, 2013 It is with a heavy heart that I have to share with everyone that we had to help our beautiful Ms. Allie across the bridge today. I can't believe that just a little over a week ago we where celebrating her 14th birthday. She came into our for the first time 12 yrs ago when she entered the kennel a sweet little 2 yr old. I remember when she went to her first home she was not sure about things and how quiet she was all the time. She would come stay with us when her family went away or for greyhound play dates. After being there for 2 years her first home was giving her up and we needed a friend for our Connie after Van had to go to the bridge. It worked out GREYT. The girls both already knew each other so it was a no-brainer. That was in Oct 2003. A few short weeks later the kennel asked us to foster another little female named Holy Grail "Gracie" The rest was history. LOL We had the 3 musketeers. Connie the momma girl, Gracie the boss, and Allie the sweet baby girl. I remember the day we brought her home for good the first thing I did was pick her up and put her on the sofa. She wasn't allowed on the furniture at her first home. She was never one to play with the stuffies. If she wanted to be petted she came to you. I don't think she ever barked but, boy could she roo. It was so cute to hear the sweet sound come out of her little mouth. She always had away of letting you know what she wanted and she would keep at it until you just gave in. She was always the first to go to bed and made sure that no one got on her bed. She loved to cuddle with the other hounds. I think her favorite cuddle buddy was Biggy. He would be laying quietly on the sofa or pillow and Allie would just jump up there and lay on him. LOL He never said a word. She loved to go for rides and went on many adventures with us to Texas, Kansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kentucky, Chicago, Iowa, and just last month Tennessee. Everyone always fell in love with her where ever she went. She was here longer then any other hound I have been blessed to have had in my life. I know she is at the bridge with Van, Connie, Gracie, Teddy, Jojo, Cobra, Havok, and all the other hounds that came thru our house as a foster. She will also be seeing her poodle friends Ginny and Maggie. Run Free sweet baby girl.
