Guest sweetpea Posted July 31, 2012 Share Posted July 31, 2012 Crazy Legs. I named her before I met her, and wouldn't you know she had the longest, lankiest, craziest legs you ever saw on a hedgehog. She used those legs for tubing races with her roommate Talulah: She used those legs for climbing! But mostly, she loved to run on her wheel. And run. And run. One night, in a fit of insomnia, I was puttering around online, and I listened to her run on that wheel for two straight hours! That was the last time I had to wonder why she never seemed to get as "fluffy" as Talulah. And then when those crazy beautiful legs started to fail her, I knew something bad was happening. I was right. Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome, which is as much a scourge of the hedgehog world as Osteo is to the greyhound world. She fought a good fight, but when she didn't charge out of her pigloo for dinner two days ago, I thought it might be the beginning of the end. Yesterday at 5:30 pm, Crazy Legs took her leave. She needed just the barest nudge, which both the vet and I took as a good sign that the time was right. Farewell my fiesty little one, now you can run forever.
