HopeForHounds Posted December 29, 2012 Share Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) Today we made the most difficult decision to let our wonderful boy Jake go. The past years, as many of you know, have been up and down for Jake. He has fought TBD and more recently LS. On New Year's day he had his first crisis and collapsed, I wasn't sure he was going to survive that. But, with fabulous vet care and the strongest will eve,r we managed to get an extra year. The last 2 weeks have been increasingly difficult and it became clear that our time was running out. I had hoped to wait until the holidays were over, but had made an appointment for today "just in case". Jake's passing was very gentle. With his head in my lap,his soft gaze held his vet Miki's and his heart stopped beating. I know that Peanut, Foxy, Angus our border collie and Rita - Jake's littermate were there to meet him. Godspeed my handsome man with the softest ears, you've left a big hole in my heart. This is how I will think of him - whole, healthy and moving easily, playing with his sister Peanut.
