  1. Ducky we are sorry Mikey had to leave...but you gave him the best months of his life...run free and above the storms Mikey. Molleigh & Mom
  2. I agree with the Dexdomitor and AntiSedan (reversal) worked fine with my first grey for minor surgery...saw many nail trims done with it.
  3. I am so sorry for your girl's passing. MH is always a worry for us Grey owners. I too thought it was only from anesthesia. In my first greyhounds adoption package was a paper about a drug called "Dantrolene". Thankfully I had put a copy of it in her chart. In my 20 yrs in the Vet field I saw a non-anesthethic event on a Grey who was 10-11 with a bad mouth...he was very stressed when he came in and before we could even think about the dental he started to go downhill. Dantrolene is not something a Vet (or ER) usually keeps on hand but I was able to call the local hospital and they sold us some to give IV. While I went to get it the Drs and staff kept him on the traditional cooling protocol. The old guy survived and lived the rest of his life with bad teeth. This spring Molleigh was schedule for a massive dental...she ended up having 25 removed. The dental specialist I used actually had the drug on hand in case needed, she had worked on a lot of greys and I grilled her on her protocols. The fact that she had it made me feel much better. Even with a necropsy an answer might not be there......I just wanted to share this info on Dantrolene because I saw it save a life. It can be given pre surgerical in tablet form for highly stressed animals. It is the same drug they would use on a human if MH occurred. Again I am so sorry about your loss. Carol
  4. Molleigh just had 25 removed last friday....everything on top including K-9's went. Even though she always had bleeding gums she did not need the Amicar but the Dental Specialist had it on hand. She bleed very little for that many extractions, they did suture the area where the K-9's came out. Soaking her small kibble and putting it through the Ninja made a nice lickable slop....in a couple of weeks I will just soak it.. Good luck Carol
  5. Molleigh just had 25 removed...I used my Ninja to puree the chicken and rice...next week I will probably soak her kibble then put it through the Ninja..once her gums heal maybe I will only have to soak the kibble. The Ninja makes greyt crushed ice too. Just checked Kohls website...59.99 for the newer Master Prep and 50.99 for the one I have. If you have a Kohls near you it is a good deal because you get their Kohls cash for every $50 spent...
  6. If the Vet wrap is too tight his toes will turn cold and maybe swell so keep and eye on it. Molleigh did this last year..toe was sticking out sideways. I popped it back in and wrapped it..of course it was the weekend. I did take her to the vet to make sure nothing broke which it had not. Had to keep her quiet for a few weeks..but each time she went outside I wrapped it lightly to keep the toes together. I think she caught it in the track of the patio door...silly girl came in on 3 legs never whimpered when I reached down and popped it back in...she just wanted her cookie.
  7. Ducky I am sorry Gracie had to leave...no time is ever the right time...she will live forever in your hearts.
  8. I feel your pain....the one and only time Molleigh jumped into our Jeep was the day we got her 5 yrs ago. After the Jeep was ruined in an accident we got a nice Van thinking it was lower and she would have no problems.....nope I still have to put her front feet up and boost her in. We have tried every treat including liverwurst (uck). Just this past fall she learned to jump onto the sofa...and I thought great now she will get into the car since it is lower....nope.
  9. We miss the Dutchess soo much...she was my idol...hugs to Mr.Marc Molleigh
  10. Welcome from Virginia Beach...hope to meet Lovey..did you get her from the local group?
  11. Run free Daytona...sending hugs to Ms. Lori
  12. Such a beautiful girl and loved so much....my heart is with you.
  13. You know we are holding you in our hearts....run free Jake...you had one of the best Moms in the world.
  14. It broke our hearts to hear that Zoe has left us....we will always have fond memories of our times together...she was a special girl. Love...Carol & Molleigh
