ChiliDog
Home from work and Sam is doing a lot better today. Think the pain is easing a bit and he is not shrieking or panting as much. No redness, just a tiny bit of oozing from the drains - it actually looks better today. He has not tried to touch it at all - though he does have his muzzle on most of the time. Now I have the weekend to figure out what to do while I am at work next week. Once again a fervent wish that we lived closer Glad he's feeling better Quote Donna & The League of Extraordinary Greyhounds Adoption Squad; Buffy and Rik T

djsgreys
We went to the vet to check on the redness. I was pretty sure it was bruising but do KNOT want to take a chance on it being an infection. He had a greyt time. There were two other greys there at the same time so he got to visit, the receptionist fed him handfuls of treats and the vet says it is looking really good. The drains will likely not come out for another full week based on how much they are still draining. Washed him down well when we got home, and slathered him with polysporin and he is having a nice long nap. Think I will go join him. greyhndz
Teo had a very similar injury, and I'm more than happy to lend you his healing duds. He received a pair of emergency jammies from Kerry of No Nude Hounds. I also bought a no-bite collar, which you can see below in full regalia, with Teo hiding his head under the bed -- his usual sleeping position. If you'd like to borrow either or both, please PM me and I'll get them out immediately. Best healing wishes for Sam!

Charlies_Dad
I very glad Sam is doing better. If we were closer, I would have not problem having Sam over for a few days while you're at work (I work from home a lot). More good thoughts that he continues to heal nicely. djsgreys
Well - we made it! Sam's stitches are due to come out today. We didn't end up using anything to keep him away from them - right up until yesterday he never touched them at all - although he did manage to pull his drain out. djsgreys
We got about 1/2 of the stitches out last night. The vet wants to leave the rest for at least another week. So one more week of keeping him away from the - time to try the towel or pj bottoms.
