The next week or two will be stressful so try to rest and when she's home the best thing is to be as prepared as possible. She will do fine and there may be a couple times you have seconds thought but don't worry, she will surprise you in no time. He told me as he was preparing for her surgery that it crossed his mind - here is this dog, who, on a minimal dose of Deramaxx is running and playing with all 4 legs...are we doing the right thing? Then he looked at the xray again - yes, yes we are. This just affirms his belief that we've caught it so very early. The pathology on the bone will take a couple of weeks and he said he is as anxious to get the path back as I am. Everyone at the clinic is already in love with her She is resting comfortably and will raise her head up if someone comes by to talk to her, but then she puts her head down and goes back to sleeping. She's got a Fentanyl patch, we'll gauge how heavily it's affecting her and may need to peel it back a little bit to lighten the dosage. My mom and I will be there at 6pm tonight to see her, possibly feed her, and transport her to the emergency center for the evening so she'll be monitored. Then tomorrow morning we'll pick her up and get her back to Dr. Less for the day. If she's able to get up and get around, she can come home tomorrow night.
