  1. No jammies here--we had a few single digit nights at my parents house over Xmas, I'd give him a blanket, he'd roach it right onto the floor.
  2. Wondering if maybe he had an "owie" spot--Johnny is very sensitive about his neck and forelegs due (I think) to a fall during a couple of races.
  3. You can also try Purina Beyond Tuna&Egg, or Petco's house brand of Lamb&Lentil. I got both for Johnny when he hit a "Mr. Picky" stage. Good luck!
  4. Yep, agree with Judy. I give Johnny Greenies or the Milk-Bone brushing chews, both are good. His teeth may not be Hollywood-white, but it helps.
  5. Johnny told me, in no uncertain terms, that he would not be crated again! He ran down the hall back to the bedroom. He was baby-gated in there and muzzled. Then he knocked the gate down. So he got to be where he liked, muzzled, until I felt that he would leave the cats totally alone (and that they had an escape route).
  6. "Leave the dog alone" is heard in my house a lot! They like to go up to him and sniff him when he's trying to relax, which has resulted in a growl-snap, but no contact. Like Susan said, if he/she wanted the cat, they'd have the cat. The flip side is, if one of the cats is in his bed, he won't step on them to get them to move, I have to move them!
  7. Here's another consideration--dogs that jump on people. Johnny can knock me down, I know he's excited, but he could really hurt someone. I think he's finally getting the idea that yes, I'm happy to see you too, but I don't need a broken tailbone!
  8. I'm probably one of the taller women on GT, my Johnny is 80#. I'm more likely to pull him around, he likes to stop and sniff and forgets to continue. I use a leather leash, I find them a lot sturdier than nylon. I think she'll be fine if you guys "test walk" a few hounds and see how they go.
  9. Even on some of our hottest days, Johnny doesnt drink what I think he should. He gets wet food and water always available, so I figure he'll drink when he's thirsty.
  10. Rice can cause upset, too. I think a lot of people are having the same problem as you with the hooks, multiple rounds and still positive. Green beans are a good, filling favorite. I get either the canned or the SteamFresh from Birdseye.
  11. Just wait till they include you in the butt sniffing--I can't even walk by Johnny without a nose in the rear.
  12. Run free, sweet and goofy Tato. Ducky, you have such a huge heart.
  13. Is there a vet dermatologist near you? Or a vet med school?
  14. Yep, what Smurfette said . I got Johnny when I lost my Lab, now I recommend greys to everyone. Or maybe a Galgo or an Ibizian or...
  15. Allen, you had the greatest of fortune to land with Ducky.
  16. I do have an original, bought at Petco, Thundershirt. I am using it in conjunction with the medication and training with my greyhound savvy vet (who has owned greys himself).
