  1. You're used to those mama dogs. They are always up to something.
  2. It makes me very happy to see Sweep looking so happy!
  3. I'm glad neither of you were seriously injured. We have a Honky Hog here too. Wiki will occasionally do the cut in front of me and stop. I tell her that if I'm dead there will be no one to feed her, much less take her for Wiki Walkie.
  4. What sweet faces! I do think Toni is the only one who has the look of a true pirate.
  5. Rocket! Mark & Diva are cute, but Rocket has the attitude.
  6. Poor thing! As if the indignity of having to eat off a litter bucket wasn't enough.
  7. I’ve got a mishmash because they are all technically the neighbors’ fences. The back is cheap plain chain link, it’s the worst but it’s been there 30+ years and is still standing sturdy. The guy who lived there before the current folks cut off the metal bits that hold the chain link to the top bar for some unknown reason so it’s all loose. I keep meaning to fix it up with zip ties under the cover of darkness so the current owners won’t see me. One side is green vinyl coated heavy chain link, it’s the best. Been there 40+ years and looks like new. Other side is homemade wood. It’s been there over 30 years and is pretty weathered but stands up to our winds and snow and the neighbor kids climbing on it. My contribution is the 5’ wooden gates, all the rest is 4’. They’ve been up almost 12 years and are just fine. Unexpectedly very important to me is some kind of gaps that the rabbits can get out through so I don’t have to clean up crime scenes.
  8. I am so sorry. But it sounds like Su's last night is going to be great!
  9. Hi Finbar and Dad! I'm nowhere near TX, but welcome!
  10. Congratulations! He's very handsome.
  11. That's lovely! Thanks for sharing!
  12. The Black Bandit approves of her protegee the Blonde Bandit's actions.
  13. Since he's mostly eating at night, it seems more likely it could be belly related. How old is Hobbs? Lila started having problems when she was 10 or 11 and could no longer handle things that she ate with no issues previously. I would just give one GasX pill after meals. It's a pretty safe medication, I don't think it could cause many problems. Just make sure it only contains Simethicone. I think there is a version of GasX that has something else in it. It can't hurt to try it. I hope this simple solution works for you. I know how hard it is to see them uncomfortable, and how hard it is to have interrupted sleep.
  14. When my Lila had these symptoms, it was belly pain or gas. Anything new in his diet? GasX was a big help for us.
  15. Awww, sweet old girl! Lila made it to 14.25 and those last few months were tough, probably more for me than her. She was on Previcox and Tylenol for pain and had issues with her back legs. I knew I didn’t want it to get to a horrible place for her so I was constantly assessing how she was doing. The best thing I did was work with a palliative care vet. I don’t know if those are common in the UK. Having a plan for end was important to me and to have someone who was able to come to my house for euthanasia. Making the decision of what is the right time is not easy. I think all you can do is put her needs before yours. Give Peggy a smooch from me.
  16. Wiki, the Black Bandit, is nine years old today! It is unusually warm here today, so she got a long walk and even wanted to do some sun bathing. She got many new toys. And a fancy biscuit. Those of you who warned me about getting a brood mama were right, she absolutely does not act her age. She makes me laugh every day even if it is due to Black Bandit antics.
  17. What a lovely pair! It's amazing how things just work out sometimes.
  18. Happy Gotcha, Sid! You know how to celebrate! He is such a handsome dog!
  19. Lila got kangaroo a couple times, but I think donkey is a new one.
  20. Happy birthday Mark! You have much less white on your face than Wiki, who will also be 9 in a couple weeks. In her defense, she's had four litters of puppies.
  21. The cure for this is a generous application of treats. Especially cheese.
  22. You are good people to take in the seniors in need.
