Did it just start? For both of them at the same time? Could it be kennel cough?

Is it normal for them to just pick a spot that they always use? Without any encouragement Wiki, and Lila before her, always poop in the same corner of the yard. It is the furthest corner from the door, which is fine, but it means I have to shovel a path all the way to the back in the winter. Please note my location, this is no small task.

Most dog like to go on adventures. Can you take him for a ride to a dog friendly park or the beach or the woods? Try playing games with him, hide a treat under one of two cups and have him find it, or just in your hands. It doesn't have to be a big deal, just spend time interacting with him. Then spend some time around a non-stop retriever or a barky little fluffy. You will be very appreciative when you come home to your sweet, quite guy.

He got a clean bill of health from your vet, right? Do they have any different parasites in the Middle East that we don't normally test for? Wiki was very skinny when I got her and I couldn't get any weight to stick on her until she started to get rid of the hookworms. You know I love ProPlan Bright Mind. The small breed version has 487 kcal/cup and teeny tiny pieces. I don't know if you can find that up there though. I think Fromm is available in Canada and they have lots and lots of flavors, most with very small pieces and high calorie counts Lots of treats are good for adding weight too.

Picky old lady Lila always would eat the Cesar wet food even when she wouldn't eat anything else. And you can't get much cheaper than that.

You did the right thing. Not every dog is the right fit for every house. She'll be adopted into her right family soon. And I'm sure the cat will get over it quickly also. There are many greyhounds who can live with cats. See the Fencetop and Mary post over in the Remembrance section for an especially great pair. An older dog who has been returned might be a better fit for you. They will know about living in a house already, maybe even with cats, making the transition much easier.
