gryhndsr4us
Dreamy is at the vet today. She is having intermittent issues with her left side. At times she is fine, then she will drag both front and back legs on her left side. She doesn't seem to be in pain, just unable to fully control both legs. Has anyone seen anything like this? She's home with pred and tramadol. They found a questionable area on her spine. We will hope the pred and tramadol will work. No zoomies in the yard March 25th Dreamy is doing much better! No left side dragging yesterday at all. None this morning on her potty walks. MP_the4pack
Actually, yes. But it was caused by a collision between two dogs. There was spinal injury. If she wasn't in an accident, she just might need a good chiropractor.

Guest Babs
I can relate and feel for what you are going through and am sending my thoughts and prayers for good health for Dreamy your way. A few years ago my greyhound, Mac, had a blood clot that affected his gait and balance. The only way we found what was wrong was to have an MRI done on the brain. And sure enough there was a jelly bean sized blood clot in the cerebellum! Not saying that this is what your hound has...just saying don't rule out MRI's that can save a hounds life for while longer. On the plus side, after being paralyzed for a few months he walks perfectly now and you would never know, although he is being treated for hypertension and just recently Mesothelioma. My other greyhound, Cleo, had an incident a few months ago. When she gets up from a deep sleep and does a downward dog stretch she tightens up her muscles and just goes blank, almost like she's sleepwalking. We had our vet check her out and when he xrayed her spine found a little muscular damage, probably from colliding with the other greyhounds when she raced. We had to limit her to only a few stairs and no jumping or any strenuous activity for a few weeks. She's fine now, but now that I know what is ailing her, I watch her closely. Best of luck to you and Dreamy and hope your vet finds out what the problem is...and lots of hugs from us... Guest kellygreyhound
Just chiming in with my experience--my Kelly had a stroke when she about four with back leg paralysis. Whatever it was in her spinal column dissipated after a few days at the neurology vet and they found no underlying causes. And she improved quickly, after a few hydrotherapy sessions she was back to her normal self. We also had MRIs done to pinpoint the issue (can't remember what scans they used for the initial diagnosis). So hugs and prayers that it's something easily resolved that your grey will recover from quickly!
