Frightning At The Vet

Poor baby. Hopefully it's a bladder infection and the Clavamox will do its job, and in the meantime the Tramadol will make her comfortable.

Rotten luck on the blood vial, but good they are willing to come to you for a replacement.

Gentle hugs for your girl from us!

Prayers hope.gif and white light candle.gif for your baby girl. I know this is scary - it sounds like what happened with Penny about a month ago. Hopefully it's a UTI or something. She will probably want to be clingy tonight.

Thanks everyone. You have no idea how much I appreciate you all being here. Frightz slept on and off throughout the night but she's still crying and panting every 30 - 40 minutes or so and when she tries to get up off her bed. She's eating the chicken and noodles i made her so that's a good sign. The one weird thing I noticed is when she tries to poo, three times since we brought her home, she sqauts, her tail lifts and she yelps and gives up. I know she has to go so I'm taking her back in at 9AM. They took xrays and her bone structure seems sound, theres no obstructions or kidney stones that the vet could see. Could be the position is hurting her gut, she's a very sensitive dog and may just be scared by the pain. I wonder how she ever managed to pop 40 pups out her yoohoo and live to tell the tale. Right now she's actually resting which is a relief. I hate not knowing what is going on with her, it's just so hard to keep calm...Guess it doesn't help that I haven't slept much the last 3 nights.

Unlikely this is the issue as it would have been found, but when Arlie cried out when trying to poop last year, it was a sign her anal glands were full, and in fact one was on the verge of rupturing.

(We go every couple of months now to have them checked. Ounce of prevention.)

I just updated the main post but becasue she again yelped this am and just a wee nugget of poo came out i'm starting to worry that there is a tumor or arthritus or something but the blood test did not have any markers there and all systems seem to be functioning (very well, they said). It's just my mind is racing trying to understand and come up with a solution. Otherwise, she is eating well an feeling a lot better, asked for a cookie and wagged her tail yesterday for her Daddy too. She also isn't yelping when she moves or gets up off her bed and she's a lot less stiff this am - I'm just worried about the pooing/yelping thing.

Something is constipating her. Might want to ask the vet if there is something you can give to help "things" move through.

Hopefully, it isn't a tumor like you are thinking.

You could try some unsweetened applesauce to get her going? Just a thought. Has the vet checked her anal glands?

Good luck, and hopefully, this will resolve soon!

Can they do an ultrasound to check for tumors and obstructions that an xray wouldn't show? (just an idea; I am *not* an expert!). Hugs to you both and wishing for you that the vet figures it out fast.
