  1. My sweet girl is 13 years old today! I am so fortunate she's made it to this age in pretty good shape. She's a little wobbly sometimes and has a touchy tummy but she still runs a bit in the yard, is greedy for treats, and bashes me with her snoot and paws for snuggles. Give your doggies an extra treat and hug today in her honor! ETA more photos. It was gloomy most of the day, but the sun came out for a little while so I was able to get one of my girl looking happier. And with the paw asking for some scritches.
  2. It could just be normal shedding. An alarming amount of fur can come off of these dogs! It happens seasonally here but moving into a home from the track/kennel can trigger it. Give it some time, she might grow back a lovely new coat.
  3. I have that same pillow pocket cover. I don't know what that material is, but it attracts every speck of dust, lint, fur in the house and holds on to it forever!
  4. Poor Cletus. Clearly he has been reformed. He should be free of all these accusations.
  5. I don't see a problem here. This is normal greyhound assembly.
  6. I'm so glad to hear sweet Sweep is doing well and enjoying her food! Fromm really let me down, their lack of disclosure almost cost Lila her life. Bright Mind for all the seniors! I really should be collecting some kind of commission from Purina.
  7. I also switched my old girl to Pro Plan Bright Mind. And I was also worried about the much higher protein than what she had been eating. It was not an issue for her at all.
  8. I've been there. Forcing doesn't help anything, just makes it worse. Time should eventually make it better. Have you tried leashing him up? Is he generally good about telling you when he's got to go out and not going in the house? If so, just wait him out. Try to get him out as late as possible, before it gets dark and then he might just hold it until morning, or get you up at 2 am. It's not ideal, but that's what worked best for me and Lila. It took a few weeks, but she got over it. Hang in there!
  9. Lila is a Dodge Em by Design daughter. She's got regular ears, but she does have sableing, super plush furs, and those big soulful eyes. And she's the sweetest thing ever.
  10. Cletus, you can chomp that old folks chicken any time you'd like. I think it's kinda scary.
  11. I don't think it's unusual. Lila still won't take treats from anyone she doesn't know very well. And even then, a friend says Lila takes treats like she's taking communion.
  12. Welcome home Kibo! The two of you look very happy together already.
  13. Thanks everybody! I wish I could have her for another 9 years.
  14. Lila 7/23/2010 Lila 7/23/2019 Some things change, some things stay the same. She claimed the spot in front of that bookcase as soon as she walked into the house. It moved to a different part of the room, so she did too. I am so grateful to have had 9 years with my beautiful, sweet, stubborn, good girl! We will celebrate tonight just like we did her first gotcha day, with an ice cream cone.
  15. it is. I was their biggest supporter for a long time, but they lost my trust after that. They changed the main protein source from duck to chicken. And they were not real straightforward with their response. No one responded to my first email, I had to escalate it, and then the response was kinda BS about how it was no big deal and they notified their dealers. My feed store is really great, they sell a ton of Fromm, and they have a Fromm rep in there regularly. I asked them about it and they had no idea and were not notified either. That change led to a whole series of events that almost led to Lila not being here anymore. This whole DCM thing is what led to me figuring it out since duck was a suspect protein and I checked the food bag to see if it was the first or second ingredient and was surprised to see it not listed at all.
  16. Lila took herself off of Fromm's Gold last winter. Turns out she knew they changed the formula even though they didn't bother to tell anyone about it. I've had her on ProPlan Bright Mind and she likes it and is doing well on it.
