  1. This is my favorite story, but it's bittersweet this year. Missing Whiskey
  2. Nice job multitasking, holding the book and listening!
  3. I have a Kurgo, that I got from TJ Maxx, which is what we call Homegoods around here. Mine says it's not washable. It doesn't get heavy use and I've hosed it off out in yard.
  4. Rescue Remedy does seem to help Lila relax during thunderstorms. I just squirt a dropper full in her mouth.
  5. They are adorable! Congratulations to all of you!
  6. Awww, there's nothing like a snooze in the grass, or astroturf. We've got plenty of leaves we could share with Kate too!
  7. Lila loves a lounge chair cushion. They are made to be outside and you can probably find them on the clearance rack at this time of year.
  8. He's a handsome guy! Congratulations! They notice everything! You think he's just been laying around but he's been closely studying you and his surroundings.
  9. I'm sorry that it was such a sad situation that brought her to you, but she is lovely and I know she will bring lots of joy to your house.
  10. Yep, lots of people do it. But Greysmom is spot on about the adoption groups and finding a dog who is OK with it (most of them are). Once our routine was established, if I come home early Lila is like, "What are you doing here? It's not time yet."
  11. Lila turned 13 on September 2. She's in pretty good shape physically, sometimes a little wobbly, and she does seem to be confused at times but she is generally a contented girl.
  12. I have lots of experience with hammocks. They are not all the same! You need to get one that is fleece, not nylon, and I even find canvas to be too slippy. And it needs to have "anchors" that go inbetween the seat and seatback to hold it in place. With those features, it doesn't really move around. That said, that Kurgo bridge looks great!
  13. I've never fostered, but as someone with a full time job who will only have one dog at a time, my one criteria is for a dog who can handle that. But most foster homes have multiple dogs, and many of those people are home for much more of the day than I am. So I would love to have someone like you to foster for me! If you are willing to take it on, I'm confident there are many potential adopters who would benefit. Not to mention dogs not being returned when they are adopted out to working people and they can't cope.
  14. She's got good taste, that's pretty much the only grocery store bread I like.
