  1. I love the one of them all gathered around you.
  2. Congratulations to all of you! He's just lovely!
  3. Yay Andy! You're an inspiration for Lila (12.5).
  4. Logan, you're a genius! It's funny that he doesn't pick the balls up with his mouth. But Lila wouldn't even touch something like that.
  5. The dreaded frozen foot! It’s horrible to see them holding their feet up and unable to walk. See this prior thread for my bootie suggestion. http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php/topic/324089-boots-for-cold-weather/ But that’s not going to help you today. I’d suggest any kind of sock or covering you can get on her feet to protect them. Baby or toddler socks work pretty well. You could use vet wrap to hold something up that doesn’t fit as well. With Lila, anything that prevents her toes from touching the snow/ice and keeps the snow out from between her toes seems to work. Jamie, getting Lila suited up to go out is work. I can’t imagine getting shoes on 3 dogs.
  6. I had this same issue this summer when Lila finally destroyed the cover to her beloved Victoria Peak bed. I could find no way to contact them, they seem to be well and truly out of business. I ordered a memory foam bed from here https://www.dogbed4less.com/products/replacement-external-cover-7-sizes-in-5-colors which Lila would not have anything to do with. But I was able to stuff the innards of the Victoria Peak bed into the denim cover. It is not as sturdy as Victoria Peak's but it worked. I topped it up with some new fluff and it was almost as good a new. Good luck!
  7. I'm so happy to see you have another houndie in your home! Congratulations to all of you! Petunia is lovely!
  8. I haven't bought anything from them in years, but this still makes me sad. It's going to be a big hit to the small northern Wisconsin town where they are located.
  9. Hmm, someone just asked about this and I'm too lazy to type it up again. See here: http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php/topic/324089-boots-for-cold-weather/
  10. Lila snacks occasionally, only in the winter though. It's not caused any problems.
  11. Her “good bed” is in the laundry. No one believes me when I say she’s both stubborn and opinionated. Now I have proof.
  12. That's awesome! What a wonderful way to imortalize your boy!
  13. I'm a big fan of Fromm. It's made right here in Wisconsin! They have so many different flavors, you should be able to find one that meets your needs. https://frommfamily.com/products/dog/?animal=dog&query=&lifestage=&breedsize=&recipetype=&attributes=&protein=&productline=&sort=4
  14. I just realized today that there is a woman we see pretty regularly in the morning who crosses the street to avoid Lila. It's really obvious because she crosses back to the "correct" side once she gets past us. It's her problem, Lila is the least threatening dog ever, most of the time she's too busy sniffing every single leaf or blade of grass to even know the lady is there.
  15. That sounds just like my Lila. She's 12, red fawn, super soft plush fur and the annual Big Shed. Clouds of it come off her and tufts that I can pluck out. Thankfully it's just once a year then she's back to her wonderful soft non-shedding fur. Until next year. Adding a photo - This was just a casual brushing of one side of her during the Big Shed.
  16. Physical manipulation was too much for both me and Lila. I took an easier approach by getting her comfortable on easy stairs first. Big, wide, solid steps like outdoors at public buildings – schools, libraries, offices, etc. I took Lila to the local college and started out with just a few steps then moved to buildings with more or steeper steps. That was enough for her to figure out how to make her legs go and be confident going up and down. Good luck!
