MerseyGrey
You return home from your evening walk and your dog spies his favourite toy, which he dumped on the front lawn as you went out. Suddenly deciding that he wants that toy, he accelerates from 0-100 mph, and like the well-trained human you are, you try and keep up - you don’t want to spoil his fun. He reaches the toy (Honky the Hedgehog) and once attained, he veers right abruptly - straight into the path of the clumsy human who is attached to the other end of his lead. The human is being carried by her momentum and keeps going in a straight line. She knees the dog in his ribs, knocking him to ground. As she senses the ground rapidly coming up towards her, she stumbles to try and fall on a piece of hard tarmac but finds that the dog, who is desperately trying to escape the mass of flesh that is about to land on him, is on ABSOLUTELY EVERY patch of ground in front of her. The dog growls and snarls and barks as the human’s body falls onto his, and the humans has several thoughts running through her head simultaneously: ‘I’m going to break him’; ‘he’s going to bite me’; ‘will he ever forgive me?’; ‘he’s surprisingly spongy for a bag of rubik’s cubes’. There is a tangle of greyhound and human on the driveway. The dog slinks out from underneath the startled human and stands quivering. The human, still in shock, pulls herself together enough to give her dog a once over. The dog flinches dramatically every time she touches him. The dog moves away from her, and then launches himself on Honky - victory! The human, still on her knees on the driveway, can only watch as the dog trots off happily into the house since Dad has opened the front door to find out what all the commotion is. Buds is sleeping peacefully now, and I’m happy to report that apart from a small graze on his leg he is ok. I’m also grazed but nothing more than my ego is bruised. At least the house across the road is empty so nobody saw what happened Quote Buddy Molly 🌈 5/11/10-10/10/

Remolacha
I mean, how terrible! () Seriously, I am glad you are both all right. Jerilyn
I'm glad neither of you were seriously injured. We have a Honky Hog here too. Wiki will occasionally do the cut in front of me and stop. I tell her that if I'm dead there will be no one to feed her, much less take her for Wiki Walkie. It’s very similar to the GSOD, it turns out This episode has highlighted that Buddy needs to work on his human’s turning training and she needs to learn to heel better. I can try reasoning with him in the style of Jerilyn/Wiki, but he knows that if I pop my clogs there’s a replacement human at home. We’re too expendable! Glad you're ok and thank you for the vivid description. Not my description! A comedian I had never heard of was doing the rounds recently with a skit about greyhounds (saying that he found them creepy, and that going home to snuggle your greyhound would be like cosying up to a bag of Rubik’s cubes). First I was annoyed by the damage he might do for greyhound adoption, then I just felt sorry for him because he has never known what it is to be loved a greyhound, pointy bits and all Quote Buddy Molly 🌈 5/11/10-10/10/
Houndtime
Glad you survived uninjured. I was carry a small garbage can and holding the leash after walking Odin and a storm was coming. It was very windy and I was afraid the trash can would blow away. The side door to the garage, slammed into the back of my ankles and I tipped over tripping over Odin inside the garage. I didn't want to fall on him, so I dropped the leash, the garbage can (which is my outside can for bags of after-walk poop placement), and hit the floor. I tore my rotator cuff.
