Guest IrskasMom
Morty and I had a rough Nite , He went the 12 Stairs down ( Backdoor/Backsteps ) and up at 9:30 PM . He is drinking enormous Amount of Water do to the Medicine . At 1:30 AM he needed to go out again and on his way up he fell into the Bushes next to the Steps . I had to dig him out ( violently Crying ) and helped him get Up . At 5 AM he wanted to go out again and I took him for a Walk . he did his Business and now he is fine . It wouldn't be so bad ,if it would not be so brutally Cold. In my Heart < I would not put him through this again . It is very traumatizing for him . He ate all his Dinner and 4 Slices of my Pizza . I don't care as long as he eats . I hope tonight will go better . Edited January 10, 2015 by IrskasMom
DocsDoctor
I am sorry, it sounds as if you have both been having a rough time. But if he is eating well that is a good sign - I am sure he is much happier back home and with you than when he was at the hospital, and that can only help with his recovery . Drinking lots is probably good too - helping flush any nasties out of his system. Hang on in there, and order in more pizza for both of you if that's what you fancy! And please give your brave boy a little kiss from me. EllenEveBaz
So good that he's evidently enjoying food again. That must mean he is not feeling the pain like before the operation, right? Irregular heartbeat, falling on steps, the harsh temperatures -- all these are scary things. But he's home, with pizza in his tummy and snuggling with his mom. I'm sure he's glad he's back in his world. Give him an extra hug for us. Do you have a harness for him to help on the steps? Guest IrskasMom
We are taken it Day by Day . It seems he has gotten somewhat better. The Regiment of Drops and Pills is Overwhelming. FiveRoooooers
Erika, it's really good to hear that Morty is eating again. He really scored on the pizza! Even tho he is on the pred, he may have been taking in more water due to the stress of the past few days and you may see his water consumption go back to a more normal-for-him level (pred never affected Seamus with increased appetite or water consumption so I know that is possible). If you don't have a professional harness for Morty, you can easily make one with an old long-sleeved sweatshirt by laying it flat and folding it up twice from the bottom, then folding the top end and sleeves down to meet the bottom, and now you have one long "sling" that you can put under his tuck to help steady him. The sleeves are the "handles." I hope that today will bring more relief for you both and that tomorrow is improved. Quote Old Dogs are the Best Dogs. Thank you, campers. Current enrollees: Punkin.
