My poor greyhound, Joey, has been limping for a few days, Last night when I came home from work I saw he was in tremendous pain. Went to ER, x-rays show a bone lesion. Doctor is pretty sure it's cancer.

On Monday Feb 10th I had to euthanized my kitty and then the following Monday the 17th I had to euthanize my dog, Walter. (See Rememberence)

Words cannot describe how broken my heart is.

Oh, no! I remember reading Walter's tribute and thinking how hard it must be for you, having 2 losses so close together. My heart is breaking for you as you and Joey deal with this devastating news. Please know that whatever decision you make, many people here are holding you in their thoughts and prayers. Do visit the osteo thread---there is much info and support there.

Sending hugs and white light to help you through this difficult time.

The mystery limp is always the worst. Hopefully it is something minor. Fingers crossed for you and Joey.

That is incredibly heartbreaking. You've endured too much loss in too short a time already. My thoughts are with you and Joey.

Thank you all so very much for all your love and support you folks have given me here. I am blessed to be able to have a place to express my overwhelming grief where there is people who truly understand what my husband and I are going through. We didn't have children so our fur babies are everything to us.

I thought Joey had slipped on the ice that is why I didn't take him to the vet right away when I noticed the limp. But when it didn't improve I began to fear it was a torn cruciate or osteo.

I am grateful Greytalk has the osteo thread that I will read and consider what's best for Joey and us. Our problem is that Joey is 9 years old, has a collapsing treachea and a heart murmur (low grade thankfully). But my husband is laid off also and they stopped his unemployment. I will research all our options what is best for Joey and us financially.

The good news is that the pain meds Joey is on currently is working well and he is walking using all four legs. I also have the most caring and compassionate doctors who have cared for my "kids" all these years. And I have you guys keeping me strong.

Thank you so very much!!!

I am very sorry you are going through this. The Osteo thread while not always uplifting has very good information and sometimes, sometimes there is happy news as well.
