Sweet Whitey... 4-letter words are deserved, and I can think of a few 12-letter words that would work too. :( it's just not fair to Whitey or to you. If it's of any comfort, Whitey has found the family and love he has been waiting for all his life. I'll bet that his time with you has been the very best in his lifetime. He's been a gift to you, and you've been the best gift in the world for him.

I'm so sorry. It's unusual for osteo to spread to another bone. I'll keep my fingers crossed it's a misread of the xrays. And you're right, it's not fair.

Remember that it's you who are suffering now and later. It sounds like Whitey's living large and loving life. And he'll always be that way, because you won't let it be anything else.

What a dang crapshoot this disease is. You DID do everything right. And you'll continue to do what you feel in your heart is right---for Whitey and for you. If that is simply loving him unconditionally for however long he is with you, you are absolutely perfect at doing that. And you're a fighter---even though you've been through too many battles recently. He couldn't have landed in a better family. He is truly a part of your family in every way, and I pray that he will be with you for quite a while.

Oh no, Jen, not again! We're so sorry to hear this news about Whitey - you're right - you did everything you could and this is unfair and it does suck. But you also said "He's been so happy, perky, bopping around and stalking 2-yr-old Hank" - and that's what made me smile in the middle of reading your sad news. He's had a wonderful life with your family even if for way too short a time - you've given him the ability to enjoy life and show his true personality. Thank you for giving him your love and the security of a wonderful forever home. Hugs to you all :bighug

Well, it is worse than we thought. My poor little doo-dad has a met in his distal ulna, AND in his spine. In fact, his spine looks so terrible in the xray, I wonder whether he's had it in his spine all along, even pre-amp. The met in his ulna is barely, barely visible on the rads but is causing him some pain already.

It just kills me, because he's been doing so great! He's at his best weight since we've had him, has a nice thick healthy-looking coat. He came through his amp like a trooper, and even now is moving around pretty darn well. He was trotting around this morning, lifted a leg to pee (which for a tripod is a feat), wags his tail. I CANNOT believe how strong this little guy is. Such a champ. His racing name was White Lion, and boy does that fit. I really thought we had this thing licked, when I saw how frisky he was a few weeks post-amp.

I just hate this.
