    so happy for a complete recovery for your handsome boy! Confirms what I have heard from others, greyhounds usually make a complete or almost complete recovery from a stroke and often have no idea of the cause. And usually never have another one

    I saw this scenario many times when I had multiple hounds! My favorite was one of my broodies who would suddenly look up, all alert, maybe stand up, like she heard something outside. Fletcher would leap up and run outside, Molly would snag the bed and curl up with her back to the room so when Fletcher came back in, she could pretend to not even know he was there. Worked Every. Single. Time.

    I got my renewal notice from Costco and they say they are now selling pet insurance from FIGO. Anyone ever heard of them? Dealt with them? Just curious, I am not going to try and get insurance for an almost 14 year old.

    I agree, that looks like it is in the shoulder. Lots of things going on in other places can cause a shoulder limp. I would start with pain meds on his bad days and see if that helps.

    The only one of my greyhounds that got semi-regular baths was my white and brindle boy that loved playing in the mud The others, regular brushing was fine for them, they were rarely, if ever, bathed. Unless he gets dirty or has a skin condition, I think every eight weeks is too often.

    Adequan injections are certainly worth a try. The effectiveness seems to vary widely from dog to dog, but when they work, they work really well. Until they don’t.

    Most of my dogs have been raw fed, so I am particularly careful about washing the bowls. Hot soapy water after every meal (I don’t have a dishwasher). I rinse and refill the water bowl twice a day, and wipe it out with a soapy sponge when I think about it, a few times a week. As with everything else, I pay more attention to the health and cleanliness of my pets than I do for me
