  1. You can't until you have 50 posts. Just watch to make sure it doesn't get bigger.
  2. He was my inspiration when Tanzi was diagnosed.
  3. I cried tears of relief when x-rays came back clean on Tanzi's back end. But deep down I felt it was still OS. It was. I will keep you in my prayers until his limp goes away. Which I hope it does. And soon.
  4. Vet wrap still slides. Paper tape, found in pharmacies, has a very delicate glue that doesn't take off fur. But is sticky enough to keep things up.
  5. I went the amp route, front leg, with the two that I had with OS. Once we got past the 2 week mark, they were happy and pain free. The first made it 6 months and I just lost another after 14 months. Both ended up with mets in another bone. The first two weeks are the hardest, but it's worth it.
  6. I'm so sorry. I know what you are feeling. I just lost one to OS too.
  7. I agree with Neylasmom. It's probably already broken. I don't know how weak her back end is, but I chose the amp route with my 12 yr old. She spent a whole day getting checked over to see if she was a candidate for amputation considering her age. She was. She did fantastic, surprised her doctors. She lived 6 months before osteo hit another leg. Go see an oncologist.
  8. The worst thing that ever happened to me in my entire life happened 3 years ago. Opal, I still miss you so much. This year I miss you even more as I just lost Tanzi, and since you would have been 12, you would have probably still been here. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you Bwat.
  9. I too have switched to sand. A light coating is all it takes. And it's much more eco-friendly.
  10. But it seems like only yesterday you lost her.
  11. I didn't look at the schedule but if you're talking about the big dinner, it's people only. There are dog sitters available if you need one. Before last year, the Eisenhower was the popular hotel. Last year they didn't accept dogs, so we were spread out throughout the town. The Eisenhower is having dogs again this year and Nittany has rooms at a reduced rate. I can't say if everyone will be there but it will probably be filled. If you want to see Gettysburg, I can recommend two non-greyhound activities. I would try the horseback tour of the battlefield or the Segway tour. These are not part of the greyhound event.
  12. Luckily she felt good enough to play with her SS toy and enjoy the treats. Thanks for being such a great secret Santa. It made for a wonderful last Christmas.
  13. I would get another x-ray or CT. At Tanzi's post osteo check up Dec 19, she had been limping, so we did hind end x-rays. I cried when they said they didn't see osteo. Three weeks later she wasn't improved so we did a CT scan. It showed multiple lesions on her spine and pelvis.
  14. Oh Ducky, so soon after Allen. I'm so sorry you lost such a wonderful girl.
