ramonaghan Posted June 19 Share Posted June 19 Tonight's update: The surgeon called this afternoon with the CT scan report from radiology. All signs still point to OSA metastatic tumor. Her lymph nodes are a little enlarged, but that could just be general inflammation. I asked about the bone biopsy and he said he went into the "bony proliferation of the soft tissue" vs. into the bone itself, and only about 2mm, so that’s better news than I thought, I guess. He didn't see enough lysis currently to be concerned about a fracture and thinks she’ll feel better in another day or two. He encouraged upping the gabapentin as she tolerates it, and adding trazodone if need be, but so far she seems to be doing better just with the extra gaba. She's been a bit more mobile and is snoozing peacefully now...and earlier I even got a wee tail wag when it was time for her evening Nubz bone. (Both dogs go nuts for those things, as did Sweep.) So, I still suspect our time is running out, but at this moment she is comfortable and I am grateful for that (while also so angry at the unfairness of this happening to a barely 6-year-old dog who deserves to be spoiled and snuggled for many more years). As devastated as we are, it's a relief that she is no longer hurting and can rest now. I just can't believe how fast things went downhill. @2greyhoundMINI We have an unused pair of hot pink Hunnyboots if you ever need them for Amelia. Willa just wore one on her remaining front leg to cushion her corn and also add a little shock absorption. She adjusted to it quickly and actually preferred to walk in it.
