EllenEveBaz
Meet Jeter – a happy, bouncing Tigger of a big galoot. His face gets pensive every time there’s a camera pointed at him -- you’ll just have to imagine him wearing his usual goofy grin. Milo grew increasingly quiet and withdrawn after Nutmeg died, so we went down to Greyhound Friends of NC and picked out a playful companion. It’s working out great. The boys are jockeying a little for position inside, but share space and toys easily and love running together outside. Jeter is a couple of inches taller, 5 or 6 inches longer, 15 pounds heavier, and several shades darker than Milo (in terms of hardwood floors, think dark walnut vs golden oak stain), but all other people see are two brindle hounds and they can’t tell them apart. I’m used to the attention greyhounds draw, but the interest that Milo and Jeter create when we go out is off the charts. A lot of it must be they both have such high-spirited, outgoing personalities. Jeter’s manners are a little rough, so we’re working on etiquette and trying to nurse a happy tail back to health. (He eats everything that doesn’t eat him first, including bandages, vet wrap, Neosporin, and bitter apple – even through a guarded muzzle.) He doesn’t counter surf – he counter attacks. Jeter’s racing name is Mac’s Palmer, and he’s probably first cousin to most of the dogs on GreyTalk through P’s Raising Cain and Gable Dodge. Please welcome Jeterbug to the family. robinw
I noticed that you mentioned him, but didn't know who he was. Congratulations! He is very handsome. Also seems like he comes from the Xavi Academy of Food Etiquette (last night's e vet visit was for consumption of dark chocolate covered figs). I’m used to the attention greyhounds draw, but the interest that Milo and Jeter create when we go out is off the charts. I had the same experience with Maya and Mirage, who were both red brindles. I walked them separately, but I always said that I'm pretty sure that my neighbors thought I was dragging that same brindle hound around all over the place!
