A very short time for you, but it has meant a lifetime of love to him. He'll leave with someone by his side that has cared and loved every moment of his being for those short 4 months. You've done a wonderful thing. I'm hoping for some beautiful days for you both until it's time to say goodbye. Say goodbye to him with a smile on your face and no tears in your eyes. Whisper in his ear that it was the best 4 months of your life and tell him to wait for you at the Bridge patiently, until you can meet again. Bless you for all you are doing for him. But the way he dances when he's happy--mommy came home, dinner time, walks, he seems like he could be much younger, although he's got an old, distinguished face. Put some oil in a skillet, turn heat up to high, plop steak in, give it 1-2 minutes, turn over and turn heat down to medium. Give it @ 4-6 minutes, turn back to the first side, give that 4-6 minutes, should be mostly done (and plenty done enough for him). If it's more than @ 1" thick and you want it decently done, after the first 1-2 minutes per side and turned down to medium, add a couple tablespoons water and quickly put a lid on; leave lid on for the 4-6 minutes each side. He might enjoy it raw in the middle -- in that case you can do just the first 1-2 minutes at high heat to sear each side, let cool, and feed -- but that might gross you out. Could probably also google the time amounts for baking or broiling in the oven, which might be easier for you to deal with. It took 7 months to diagnose and by the time we did, she only had a month left. Hardest thing ever. We had her on steroids for 3 weeks, and then they had less good effect and her eyes told me it was time. Someone else gave good advice... just be as happy and loving and fun as you can and afterwards you'll mourn.... He's in the moment with you.... and the best moments he's had in his life.
