The one adjective everyone used to describe "Jewell" was sweet. She was a sweet dog - but tough as nails considering she never flinched through all her bumps, bruises, toe dislocations, toe amputation and even with bone tumors we could never tell just how much pain she was in. She was our first dog (and from the last group to be adopted out of the Plainfield, CT track) and we're going to miss her something awful. Run free Juju. Reminds me and looks like my bridge angel Cash who also endured untold pain without the slightest sign. Makes me wonder if perhaps courage and bravery -particularly in the face of excruciating pain- could possibly be genetically connected to their beautiful black coat. My deepest sympathy.
