Guest VelvetEars Posted February 11, 2013 Share Posted February 11, 2013 I loved him with every part of me. From the moment I saw him at the Humane Society, i knew he was special. I had nearly 8 wonderful years with him, and i am grateful for every moment. We think he was roughly 14 (he wasn't tattooed), and until the past 6 months he acted much younger. Some back end weakness i thought might be LS, but nothing w couldn't handle. Until he started limping. He had gotten his dew claw hung up in his collar, so i thought maybe he had pulled something in that front shoulder. It was osteo. The risk of fracture while i was at work was too great. I couldn't run the risk of him breaking it while i was gone, and my kids coming home from school and finding him, and being unable to help him. Saying goodbye to my sweet prince is the hardest thing i have ever done. Three weeks later and i am still crying every day. He sent us a new friend this weekend, to fill the empty space in the house.
