Guest Betsy Posted July 1, 2011 Share Posted July 1, 2011 RR Dixie Double, Dixie to us, crossed the Bridge yesterday. We know that King (King's Ransom) and Denny were there to greet her. Born on 2/11/99, she had developed severe arthritis and we had been medicating her for that since February this year but in the last few weeks she went downhill fast. Long story short, she lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks and had developed multiple Hemangiosarcoma tumors. We have been facing this fear since February but knew it was now time and let her cross the bridge in our arms with us talking to her and telling her how much she is loved. This is the worse part about owning a greyhound but every time my eyes well up with tears, I think of all the happy times and the things she taught us and end up smiling. We are left with Taylor who is giving us lots of love and comfort but will forever miss our grand girl and her kisses. Run free sweet Dixie and know you left pawprints on our hearts!
