  1. I have three. Not for the first time either. Senior broodies are awesome.
  2. Congratulations!!! You might not have felt ready, but I'm glad you looked into Wiki. Senior broodies (even junior seniors like Wiki) are extra special. (Not sure how I missed this topic. I'm glad it popped up again.)
  3. Happy Gotcha Day Petunia! It's great that your humans still celebrate _and_ post, even if the post is late. My girls are ticked that I don't do either.
  4. I'm so very sorry that your handsome boy had to leave. Godspeed Mr. Spock.
  5. I'm so very sorry. She didn't have long with you, but she had a wonderful time.
  6. Ivy too. Although her slips--which started over a year ago, maybe two (she's 13 1/4)--have made her slightly more cautious. And I know she has an arthritic hip; she gets Metacam and laser treatments as well as supplements. I agree completely with greysmom's first couple of sentences: they lose stability; some are bothered, some aren't.
  7. Wow! That's a whole lot of hair that didn't come out of Aiden 1-4. I'm delighted that the news was good. Snuggling.
  8. I think we're about to start. A neighbour managed to loosen some hair on Ivy and Opal today ... Nice work with the Furminator, Miss Jan.
  9. Nesh is a great word. People around here tend to become more nesh as they get older. My girls are fairly tolerant of their coats. The (partial) exception is Ivy, who slo-o-o-o-o-ws down when she warms up, summer or winter. But it hardly seems right not to use a coat when the others need theirs...
  10. Happy Belated Birthday Spirit! Ivy (13 1/4) sends special wobbly-pin poop-dropping greetings!
  11. I couldn't see the video either, but ... Happy Monthly Birthday Katie! If you run like some of my oldies have, there's more up and down than forward, but lots of joy.
  12. Definitely. It's wonderful when they derive comfort from their person.
  13. Thank you Ducky. I hate that one of mine is on the list, but I very much appreciate that you post it.
  14. I'm so very sorry. A little girl who has been through so much should have much more time in heaven-on-earth. But I've lost enough dogs to kidney disease to know that they reach a point where their interest fades.
  15. Never mind, Annie, Toodles and Hildy are just as unconcerned about tongue exposure. It's a human problem, not a houndie one.
  16. I'm so very sorry. Your handsome boy was much too young to have to leave. Godspeed Ewan.
  17. I'm so very sorry. He was even more extraordinary than he was handsome--therapy dog work is a special calling and he excelled. Godspeed Nigel.
  18. Those poor girls. Petunia is clearly looking for more help. Kate has given up. It's very sad. I hope they get more covers or warmer temperatures, poor dears.
  19. Not here. I use one "electric" on all with enzyme paste, and one manual on all with enzyme rinse. It's a nightly ritual that we all endure. I never have to subject a dog to a basic dental, although there have been broken teeth and a couple of infections due to pre-adoption erosion (bad teeth that probably should have been extracted). Toodles gets her teeth brushed even though she only has 6; Cal's 4 were done as well.
