  1. Happy 11th Diva! After "fosters" Diva and Mark found out how birthdays are celebrated in your house, they're not going anywhere.
  2. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Mark and Diva are fortunate that you needed new hounds just as they needed a new home. Congratulations to all!
  3. I'm so sorry. He's clearly as fun as he is handsome. I hope you have a bit of time with him yet.
  4. I'm so very sorry. A confidence-building horse is even more special than the rest. Godspeed Skip.
  5. I try to stay as normal as possible--both my attitude and our routines--so most of the time the dogs barely skip a beat. It has helped that there have always been a few (at least) other dogs in the house. A couple of times, one of the survivors was particularly affected. The flatness can lasted quite some time--weeks or even months--but eventually the dog recovers. Opal lost her half-sister and former fellow broodie/kennel-mate Ivy in July. I'm not sure she's 100% even now (her situation is complicated by pain and drugs), but she is definitely happier.
  6. Best sort of visitors. They're clearly enjoying their vacation.
  7. I'm so very sorry. Your tribute to your special girl is perfect. Her sweetness and silliness is apparent in your photos. Godspeed Violet.
  8. Ooodles of good thoughts headed your way, with a special assist from (nearly-) Toothless Toodles. I too would be nervous with a new vet, but with his grey experience and your previous vet's blessing, he's the right doc.
  9. I'm so sorry. I'm glad it was peaceful and with soft serve, but still...
  10. She is in fantastic shape and she knows how to keep it that way and have fun at the same time. Love the pics, apple tree notwithstanding.
  11. Glad the news is ... not too bad. Now Sweep can focus on her roach.
  12. Oh no no no. I'm so very sorry. I've lost a lot to OS, but not 3/3. You're so right--it's totally unfair.
  13. Not quite BTDT--no fishing for bones that I recall--but definitely hours spent to earn a meh. A trick that I learned from my senior diabetic kitty: pureeing food into soup. I'm not sure why, but it makes some semi-interesting foods more palatable.
  14. Nicely done. It looks like a gorgeous day, with very entertaining sights. The girls--especially Opal and Daisy--were enthralled by all the kids out tonight. Daisy almost forgot to pee because of the blinking running shoes.
  15. I agree with the others, especially the comment that the cut is too drastic. I too adjust by about 1/4 c at a time (up or down). Even if he should eat half as much as he was, his system needs time to adjust to smaller meals and amounts.
  16. Awesome x Infinity! You _deserve_ that babushka/bandana big time. Go Sweep! (In the last pic, are you yelling at canser or telling canser that it not only isn't scary, it's boring?)
  17. Happy National Punkin Day! Gosh, she's gorgeous. That first photo is awesome.
  18. I haven't tried the Pet Wellbeing product, but have used Aventi Kidney Support (bought through the vet clinic) for several dogs (and, briefly, one cat--she stopped eating for other reasons and we had to fix that first). It might be interesting to compare ingredient lists.
  19. Just catching up on this thread. Good luck tomorrow. I hope whatever is bothering Jeter can be treated successfully.
  20. Interesting. But not as interesting as your definition of "expert."
  21. Me too. Happy 12th Sweep! It's so awesome that you are able to enjoy your celebration and treats! Minus the pawdicure, of course.
  22. I hope the pred buys you and Emerald a lot of quality time.
  23. Oh wow! So big, so handsome, and so black--I'm surprised there isn't more grey on his face. I had much the same thought as FiveRoooooers--would you like some jam with your toast?
