Oy. Glad you survived.
For what it's worth--and you probably know this already--when they get old, their judgement and control start to slip, and it's best to get behind something solid.
Love the pics.
I think you're applying the wrong standards in judging her choice of spot. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a Grey with it's head propped like that--on couch arms, pillows, nearby beds, car doors ...
I hope that Punkin feels better and better.
I forgot to say that--stoned and sore as she may have been--she looked absolutely lovely in the pic. Those eyes ...
I'm sorry I'm late to this thread. I'm pleased and relieved to hear that Punkin is on the mend.
Toodles has 6 teeth (two small incisors plus her canines). Cal had 4 (canines). Both ate regular kibble with water (wet but not soaked until soft) and treats. (ETA: Hard food only after healing and vet clearance.) Tongue guardrails are handy, but even houndies with a full set of chompers can have ETS, so ...
Thank you.
I have a 14 year old foster kitty that was just diagnosed with IBD or lymphoma. (Differentiation requires a biopsy, which neither the vet nor I want to do to him.) The treatment of choice for both is prednisone, but the feline version of Hill's Biome was mentioned as an alternative for IBD.
My vet told me last week that there's a nasty upper respiratory bug going around. It lasts weeks instead of days. It's being spread through dog parks and day cares.
I don't know if the bug qualifies as "canine influenza," but it sounds like something to avoid. If it's here (Southern Ontario), it's probably everywhere.
I love the look she gives you in the middle, "Is that all there is?" Then she dives after the errant piece and continues her excellent work. What a star!
I've had a few shredders and book chompers. The star was Edie, who chomped the corner of a book on dog training (I didn't like it either) and tore up a tissue box with a poodle on the side (better than tearing up the resident poodles).
Seizures are hard to watch. I'm glad they were able to stabilize Rowan. I hope he has remained okay. The vet tech may not get over trying to move a resting Greyhound.
Congratulations to the whole family, especially lucky NoAh. He couldn't have found a better spot.
I too get it, Ducky. Although ... depending on energy level, young 'uns can be a whole lot of work.
