  1. EARS UP!!! Priceless. Can't see fries and dogs without thinking of Hershey.....what a feel good story.
  2. My Buck was very grey when I got him and he had just turned 4. I think early greying runs in the Molotov line.
  3. All my dogs have answered to multiple names. Maggie answers to Maggie. Magsweet, Moo Moo, Meme, Girlie Girley and many others....including Poodle when I gat confused .
  4. Looks like these guys can fix you up...for a price. https://www.moorepet-petdoors.com/Patio-Pet-Doors-for-Sliding-Doors-s/22.htm
  5. I had an 11 X 7.5 Petsafe in a solid door with an 12" rise. Eighty pounds went through fine. The sliding ones have an 8.5 " rise., but I have seen dogs that learned to scooch down a bit (for lack of a better term).
  6. Not one of well over a hundred including a galgo ever challenged my 4 ft.chain link...but an 7 year old brood mom could climb the corner of a wood privacy fence by going up the corner in a nanosecond.. I think height is relative.
  7. think I bought mine from Perfect Memorials. My second greyhound Harley was $25 via the city.
  8. Go buy a bag of Iams. The beet pulp does it. We wormed fecaled and tested Rex within an inch of his life. 24 hours on Iams and he was a new man.
  9. I have the most amazing Urn that is supposed to hold 440 pounds.. Myself and all the dogs past are going it together. Last time I had a dog cremated it was $100 and $1 a pound.

  11. Rex would snatch squirrels and half eat them before I could get to him. No ill effects. Then there was the unfortunate episode when doves nested under a hedge in my back yard.
  12. Even better with a dog door - they are self sufficient. We do walk 2-3 times a day for totally social purposes. Mags wakes me up at 4:45 a.m. to be fed. No idea why. I feed her and resume my dreams. It's like sleepwalking.
  13. Buck broke just one weight bearing toe and my vet adamantly refused to splint it. He said the pressue would go uo his leg bone and cause worse issues. We wrapped and had very limited activity...used the Ex pen tied with bungee cords to make a small potty area from the porch.
  14. Probably the most innocuous stuff In the world is Adams Flea and tick spray. It works I've almost pickled some strays with it.
  15. I quit using Frontline 20 years ago. You are right...fleas love anything white. It's not a topical but Dr. Stack and both my vets are big fans of Bravecto.
  16. Ditto on the raincoat. None of my greys were big on toys so don't overthink that...and in general don't overthink everything. They are wonderful good natured dogs but they are dogs not princes. FWIW my suggestion is seconding Heyrundog. to bring him home and go about your business as usual. If you smother him it will stress him out. Alpo snaps have always been the best received treats here. For training dry cat treats are the best.
  17. First thought is buy a plastic bowl. Second thought is wetting with chicken stock. Many greys do best on middle of the range foods. FWIW I do know the Garth Merrick story from before he reinvented himself and would never spend a penny for his food. My secondary email is houndkeeper @sbcg,net. I'll tell you why. Broken record here. Rex had ulcerative colitis and I came home one Easter to a kitchen full of bloody runs. I could never get anything out of him that I could pick up as opposed to hose in the yard. I tried every highend food on the planet and we wormed and fecaled him within an inch of his life. Hate to rerun it for the zillionth time but I got so fed up at the $$$ dog store I went to the "store brand" aisle and tossed a green bag of Iams in the cart. Magically fixed. Its the beet pulp - it balances the water in the intestines.. You can buy beet pulp alone but it comes in huge bags for horses. Aaron on here bought a bag years ago and was sharing for shipping.
  18. Foam door insulation across the bridge will make it more comfy. Some use moleskin.
