  1. Not exactly sure had to word it but in my experience the best thing is to just make sure they are fed and watered and just go about your business. Fawning over them makes things worse. I have never used DAP but have friends that say the plug in and colliar together work far better than either alone.
  2. You should have a ton of carniceriass in south Florida that sell USDA human grade raw meat. You may have to venture to less high $$ places than Boca. I cam throw a rock here and get every organ meat known to man.
  3. Little Girl, my first grey, was chosen for me as he had zero prey drive and I had a yorkie.. They do exist. Girl was 2.5 when I got her and had never been out of her run at the farm. Neurotic is a kind term but she loved the yorkie.
  4. Granted, having run a rescue I've had more than my share of greys pass through my home. Some fosters I cried when they went to their homes and some I gave a sigh of relief as I left them. For the most part the statement is true.
  5. I was moving from Chicago to Lubbock. I stopped in Abilene, KS and they brought 2 year old Little to my hotel. Her owner had died and she was never socialized. .She got away from the lady that brought her from the far and headed for the highway. I learned then to never chase a greyhound No one ever told ,me anything else. Girl taught me about greyhounds and I taught her how to be a pet. BTW - she cost me the $50 the vet charged for her spay and shots.
  6. Agreee with above. No time frame. Some walked off the hauler and made themselves at home and some (all girls) never really settled.
  7. Happy birthday Cuz!!!

  8. I too have had excellent service from Petsmegastore for decades. However, as stated in another thread when I wet to order a few weeks ago I was warned it would be 8-12 weeks for delivery due to U.S. issues. Once close to 20 years ago my friend Tracy had her Heartgard get hung up in U.S. customs because of the beef baste (?) They promptly shipped her a different brand at no charge.
  9. Morgan has a snappy padded purple on from Petco. My words of advice would be to get a step in.
  10. Poodle had pancreatitis' and did very well for several years on Natural Balance Ultra Light. Their Fat Ddog might also be an option.
  11. My vet said of one of my Muttleys "Don't you wish they had GPS so we could see where they'd been?". In lieu of that get to know your neighbors, notify all local adoption groups about your hound and join local social media such as Next Door.
  12. Now the Belmont has me wondering about Nancy....That's a much longre timer
  13. He just checked in. He's fine.
  14. No. I have his snail mail address and will send a note and see what happens.
  15. Now that I have your attention....I Can't start new thread in Off Topic. Does anyone know if Dick (DMD'sMoxie) is OK? He hasn't posted since May. Did I miss something? He is dear to me.
  16. My pharacist almoost fell over when my doctor prescribed Tramadol, Ativan and Gabapentin. He said that was opiate abuse waiting on a plate but I've done fine on all.
  17. Can you have your lawn bagged? Never had a grass eater other a few that would get the new growth. Buck would eat a bush along the fence. Turned out it was slippery elm.
  18. It is in the individual dog but in my experience if two males don't get along they usually shake hands and go on. The girls carry grudes.
  19. True. One of my former bosses called it "$XX a year to make older customers feel safer - but absolutely useless".
  20. That story has been around since Hector was a pup...still funny though.
