  1. Burping this up, 'cuz it needs to be.
  2. This is what I use. I told her what I this is what I use and what we are doing in MY house. She does not have an issue with it and happily wrote the dosage down for me and gave me the syringes. She would rather have healthy animals in her care and likes to have and help onwers wherever she can. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000HHSHI8/?coliid=IJ1W899L0BEIK&colid=3VZXXRMJ6OV73&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it I haven't killed animal yet doing this.
  3. Hooks are a PITA to get rid of and often poop sample will be a false negative. Repeated and often worming is necessary. In my home, I would worm 2 to 3 times a week for 3 or 4 weeks.
  4. Is that supposed to be a potty joke? :rofl Pet insurance, look into Healthy Paws.
  5. Well, in my house, I would not worry about it much. My poop is never the same, so I don't expect my dogs poops to be the same.
  6. Negative stool test does not mean no hookworms!! It means that there were no wormy bits in the sample tested. Hookworms a notorious for being hard to get rid of. They require multiple worming over several weeks, as was stated above. In my house, we would treat for worms several times for 3 or 4 weeks in a row.
  7. Reading really is fundamental!
  8. Blood equals Vet visit. Make it easy on your Vet and your dog's by taking a fresh poop sample with you. Hookworms can also be an issue even if the stool sample is negative. They are hard to get rid of and often require multiple treatments. In my house, we would treat for worms several times for 3 or 4 weeks in a row.
  9. Danny, our 70 pound male eats about 1 to 1.5 cups once a day. He gets a treat most of the time when he comes inside from potty, a small treat.
  10. He really does NOT need to gain weight. His weight is fine. However, if you choose to up his weight a bit, my guess is that a good pet weight for your dog is about 80 pounds. Dogs in general do NOT need to be "Labbie" fat. The majority of pet dogs are overweight, usually grossly so. Keep in mind that the amount of food suggested by a dog food company is just that, a suggestion. Every dog has different needs and will need a different amount of food. Your Vet is also making a suggestion. I have a big male who did not race. When I brought him home, he was about in the low 70's. I kept him about 77 to 80 lbs and he looked good. I noticed that he had tanked up again and is about in the mid 80's now. He will be going on a diet to drop some weight. My dios eat 1 to 1.5 cups of Purina One lamb and rice once a day. They get a treat when they come inside from a potty trip on the yard. No one is starving in our home. Now if you ask the dogs if they are, of course they will say I starve them, brats!
  11. Tell me about indoor boots or Mushers Secret, please. We already have rubber backed throw rugs, so there is no need to talk about them. The nails are also short. What have you used with success or tried and it didn't work?
  12. Checking out each other to see if you have been sneaking snacks to one of them.
  13. Probably 90% of scars that greyhounds have occured during puppyhood from rough play with siblings in the puppy pens.
  14. Yes to the extra strap in the muzzle. Actually we slipped a snap on the muzzle strap and would just snap the muzzle to the D-ring.
  15. Our Thundershirts are not flimsy in any way. They are designed to fit snugly round the dogs' torso. The idea is to mimic swaddling and helps to keep the dog feel somewhat secure. A TS also requires some familiarization work with the dog during non-stressful situations. They are not a magic blanket that suddenly makes the world a better place for the dog. They will also NOT make the dog normal during stressful situations. A TS should help take the edge off the dog. If your TS is flimsy or cape-like it is not a Thundershirt. This is the Thundershirt: http://www.thundershirt.com
  16. Free-range cats for my greyhounds.
  17. Freddie Mercury does this. Of course he's a little freak anyway so it's to be expected. I think he is just trying to mark me with his ass scent. Or he wants me to admire it. He is such a freak.
  18. Exactly who is freaking out, your Father or the greyhound when the small dogs are around him?
  19. I would. I recall reading here that the vaccine only treats a few of the most common strains, and there are about forty-three eleven'dy strains. I'm sure one of our techs will weigh in.
