  1. I'm so sorry for your loss, Nan. I can update his Greyhound-Data page. Is "Crossed the Rainbow Bridge 2-26-17" okay, or would you like it worded some other way? Rest well, DaVid.
  2. Hello and welcome from TN! I know there's at least one member here in Savannah, username Walliered. I'll PM her so she sees your message.
  3. I'm so sorry for your loss. Rest well, beautiful girl.
  4. Granted, I've only had one greyhound, but this is Sweep exactly. Every few days, she has a crazy energy burst, runs around our yard for a minute or two, and then it's back inside to her bed. She gets at least two walks a day, but is perfectly content to out-sleep the cats otherwise. For the first 18 months we had her, we lived in a townhouse with nowhere for her to be off-leash. We found a fully fenced baseball field about 15 minutes away for weekend zoomies, and that worked well.
  5. Ditto. Sweep hates the taste, but it's so effective that I'm willing to fight that battle once every three months. And no worries with my two cats.
  6. I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you can find something that works better for him.
  7. Taylor was (is?) on Previcox, right? Did he develop side effects? Sweep had diarrhea with Meloxicam both times we tried it, but tolerates the Previcox. We give Pepcid 30-60 minutes beforehand.
  8. I think they sometimes use calming signals in times of great excitement or anticipation. Sweep will yawn before car rides or walks.
  9. Now that second one's an angle you don't see too often. Looks like Belle is settling in wonderfully. She is lovely--congrats and welcome to GT!
  10. Interesting thread. Sweep, too, has demonstrated "Elvis leg" since we adopted her shortly after her 3rd birthday--always when she stops to sniff on our walks, never in any other context. It doesn't seem to bother her.
  11. This gave me a chuckle. We've had Sweep for four years, so she's very adjusted to home and pet life. My parents dog-sat her for the first time a couple of months ago. When I called to check in, my mom asked, "Is this really all she does?" Yep, pretty much! They're not called 45mph couch potatoes for nothing. As others have said, Luna's very new and still adjusting. Her personality will come out more and more. It actually sounds like things are progressing really well. She's already learned the stairs, wags for you and follows you around, and might be displaying early signs of toy hoarding tendencies? (Sweep thinks that's the best thing about stuffies: pulling them out of the basket and taking them back to her bed.) I worried a lot in the early days too, and my adoption group said they loved the "paranoid android" adopters best, because they knew the dogs were going to be so well cared for. Anyway, welcome to GT! We'd love to see pictures of your girl!
  12. Oh, what a horrible shock. I am so sorry for your loss and heartache. She was a beautiful girl. Rest well, Cindy.
  13. Fromm has a couple of pork options and you can get it on Chewy.com.
