  1. I would. But I never had a grey live past 12. If you can handle vet costs go ahead. There was a grey in Florida ( Genie,I think lived to 18 or 19).
  2. Just picked up my 7yo fawn at vet in Clearwater Dental with no extractions 590. Cutting out 2 dime size lipomas/adenomas with medication 555. Includes send off for lab check.
  3. I have been using Advantage Multi for over a year. I switched to Frontline Plus after a month of flea infestation. Now need to add Heartguard.  Sprayed the yard, sprayed and steam cleaned area rugs. Nothing is working this Spring. I spray the dogs with Adams on walks and nothing is working. I fear overmedicating them.

  4. I have found having a group member leave a confident hound for a sleep over. Could be a weekender. Or just tough it out. I have done many with Time and a bottle!
  5. With 4 dogs, none are crated. They have full run of the house all day and never a problem. Maybe I got lucky. 3 won't even get on furniture. Only crates I needed were for a few fosters
  6. I picked up the sweetest little girl from Craig's List. She is mine now! Fly Hilary Duff
  7. I think the tracks are all right turns!
  8. Going! Will be a bunch coming up from Tampa!
  9. So far 60 fosters and not a bath. I do think they got a bath at the farm or track kennel before sending them off. I needed to bathe my own grey when a foster misdirected aggression from barking dogs behind our fence ripped a hole in our 12 yo grey. He can back from ER on a Sunday with caked blood under his belly and crotch. Do not leave your grey at a groomer ( Petco) and go pay the cashier. I looked through the window and 3 groomers had manhandled my dog making him stand on a table 4feet off the ground while attempting to grind down his nails.
  10. only camping I would consider will be in a motor home. Pay attention to door safety,as usual.
  11. After having my Spook boy for a year of everything tramatic, I changed out the Almond Refrig to a black model ( ha d to match dishwasher). Stormy would not go into the kitchen for days. Years later I just had to have a French door Stainless Steel. Poor old guy just did not care anymore. Had to let him go 1 week before his 13 BD. I still laugh when I polish the fridge.
  12. A baby gate at the top of the stairs will prevent falls during the night. Hope the stairs have carpet. Agree with sleeping in the room wherever that ends up. My first 2 needed muzzles in the beginning, misplaced aggression happened when approaching new dogs. Good luck Visit a Meet & Greet for lots of info, greyhound folks are never at a loss for words. Welcome to the cult
  13. Happy Dance. After 8 months of positive hookworms we have 2 months clear. Soooooooooooo after fostering him for 1 year to the day, I signed the papers! How could I not. I know his quirks, he fits with my other 3 dogs and he is beautiful.
  14. I have ASPCA Pet Insurance. (9yo , 6yo and 5yo ) 250 deductible and 80% payout 5000 annual coverage $168.00 /mo. Healthy Paws quote today is $150/mo BUT reduced the 9yo to 60% and 500 deductable
  15. I had a Russian Blue cat that was low thyroid. At 22, I did not want to put her through all kinds of stuff. My vet said I could never fill her fast enough . She was a big cat but 3-4 cans of food plus kibble would not hold her overnight. She held on to 26yo. My 15yo Stand Poo is low tyroid also and she is eating like no tomorrow. She has lost weight and drinks water all day. Waiting on tests to come back
  16. With the added stress of workers in the house I would be hauling off to LaQuinta and pass the bill to landlord.
  17. My foster since Sept 2017 finally got a clear 2 weeks ago. Vet is continuing Advantage Multi, 5 doses of Panacur and 2 .1 ml ivermectin. We repeat in 2 weeks then fecal test. He tested 3 mo ago negative but had relapse. This is a 5yo male from Derby . I was concerned my 9yo was getting infected but tested negative. I figured he was given too many rich treats at a M&G at an RV show.
  18. Going on 8 months with positive fecal for hooks. Protocol has been Advantage Multi, 5 days for panacur on food 2nd day is 2ml liquid Ivermectin. Repeat every 2 weeks then test in 1 month. Testing this week shows 1 sickly egg in slide.
  19. Don't feed for a day or 2 ( yes) they won't starve while the belly calms down.
